Is it too early to start one? I couldn't find one. Maybe too early?
I am planning on applying to the TT 2nd degree BSN program in May in hopes to begin in January 2017.
Anyone else?? Anyone in the program currently or recently have any info to share??
Thanks!!
This does help, thank you. I live in Lubbock. I have no background in medicine. Bachelors in Political Science and Masters in Public Administration. I spent 25 years in government work, then was diagnosed with cancer 6 years ago and retired. I have spent my "retired" time, taking my nursing pre-requisite courses and figuring out what I wanted to do for a second career. I just needed to hear someone say that this program is doable. Thank you! How many students are in the 2016 Lubbock cohort??

While it is technically that many hours, 5 of those are your clinical course which lasts all semester. Some of the other classes are staggered during the semester. Some weeks we have to go to school several times for tests, post conference, and simulation days. You have to work one shift/week, but a typical week for me is 2/week. The weeks all have different things going on so there isn't really a typical week. I study on the days I'm not in clinical, but I still have time to have fun. We've only lost one student for personal reasons, but the cohort before lost a lot due to failing. You have a lot of resources available to do well on the tests.
I'm not going to lie, the program is really stressful. I think they really talk up how little personal time you'll have which isn't true as long as you're organized and stay on top of your studies. I tried to answer your questions, but it's hard to describe a typical atypical week. Let me know if that doesn't make sense and I'll try to explain it better. Also, are you in the Lubbock area?
