Texas Tech BSN Spring 2019

Published

Hi!

I am applying for the Texas Tech HSC Traditional BSN program, Spring 2019. Is anyone else also? What are your stats (GPA, TEAS, supplemental items, etc). Just wanted to get a page started so anyone/everyone can answer and ask any potential questions they have!

Here are my stats (they're not the best but I'm doing my best!)

GPA: 3.672

TEAS: 79.3 (Going to retake it for a better score!)

Reading 83

Math 93.8

Science 68.1

English 75

I also have a resume and 3 letters of recommendation sent in.

What about everyone else?

Hello! I spoke with someone who is in nursing school regarding this and she said she chose first choice Lubbock and second choice Abilene. She had her interview at the Abilene campus BUT got accepted into the Lubbock campus. I believe you only get one interview and it is for any campus you chose.

I just called and spoke with someone at the admissions office, and she said basically the campus you're interviewing at doesn't matter, they just don't have enough people to interview everyone in Lubbock, so the interview invite is just kind of to interview for their nursing program in general, they will make a decision on which campus they want to offer a spot at (if at all lol) after the interviews

I heard the same thing! It doesn't matter where your interview is, because you'll be interviewing for all locations that you applied for!

So after the interviews, does anyone know what order they will be sending out acceptance emails? Will they be doing Abilene first and then Lubbock? Or tell you you can go to either one of your choice? Or how does it work? Because I also heard that you have to reject Abilene in order to even know if you got into Lubbock. So if you didn't get into Lubbock, you're not able to go back to Abilene as back up.

Anyways, congrats to everyone who has gotten an interview invite!

Does anyone know what type of questions will be asked at the interview?

Here are some questions I heard they asked before:

1. Who is your role model?

2. Why do you want to be a nurse?

3. What would you do if your friend broke HIPAA laws?

4. What questions do you have for us?

Thank you for you response. Good luck to you.

I was trying to figure that out too.. I think confusion from that is coming because if you interview for both campuses and only get an offer to Abilene you can reject the offer for priority on the list for Lubbock the next semester so, if you only get an offer for Abilene after the interviews for spring 2019, you could say no and be (basically) guaranteed a spot for Summer 2019 at Lubbock

Oh, so if I say no to Abilene's offer, and don't get in for Lubbock Spring 2019, I would be guaranteed a spot for Lubbock Summer 2019?

And how did everyone do on their interviews? How does everyone feel?

after interviews they will offer you a spot at either Lubbock or Abilene (or both) like in one email.. so you don't have to reject Abilene for a chance to be considered for Lubbock, you will know which campus(es) you have an offer to at the same time, so let's say they offered Abilene, but you wanted Lubbock, you could ask to be guaranteed a spot in Lubbock for the summer if you reject the offer for Abilene in the spring....this is just what I've read on some posts online, don't know if it's 100% true

this is a post from the "Texas Tech BSN Spring 2018" thread on all nurses

"I got a call 2 days ago and they said that Lubbock was full for the spring but wanted to offer Abilene to me. I had to decline so she said I would be accepted into the summer semester. Apparently starting in the summer a nursing communication class will be required." (pg. 6)

This is where I got the idea from

Thanks for clarifying everything! Hopefully you're right and it's all true.

I am having my interview Monday at Lubbock campus. What is the exact address for where the interviews are? I tried to see on sign up genius, but I don't have them access code.
