Texas Tech-Accelerated BSN Spring 2020

Published

I haven't seen a thread for those of us applying May 1st to the January 2020 cohort. I'm wondering how heavily they weigh the TEAS. Also, I have heard as long as you meet all criteria they typically give you an interview. Has anyone else heard this? I really like how they take a holistic approach to grant admissions. I'm wanting to apply to UTA but I feel like the main way you get extra points is by attending school there which I did not do! We'll see!

I took HPRS - 2301

Be careful that you don’t register for the wrong one because it was super confusing when I registered and I had to call the TTU SON for clarification to make sure I took the correct one since ACC has more than one patho course!

Hey y'all, I just submitted my application today. I watched the webinar and everything and I didn't realize before that you need to have the 3.0 science by the application day ?

I have a 3.75 overall, but 2.9 science (because I have only taken 3 classes) and my chemistry class (that will take me over the 3.0) doesn't end until after the deadline. I got a 95% average on the TEAS.

Do y'all know if they open any exceptions to the July 15th rule for in progress classes?

Hi you guys! Maybe I am overthinking it too much but did anyone else submit a resume that was a little over a page? It says on the website to submit a one page resume but it was almost impossible to be able to include everything in one page lol

On the webinar they said it could be two pages, but no more.

Okay thank you! ?

Hi! I to am applying. Do you know where I can find a reasonable Pathophysiology class? The local community college only offers a 2 credit option. I am enrolled in 4 of 8 prereqs left and just enrolled for the last 3 today.

If you are in San Antonio St. Philip's College is the only school that has the class online I just got done taking it it is HPRS 2301

Hi everyone!

I am a student in the San Antonio Cohort and I just wanted to wish you all the best of luck in your application process. Let me know if you have any questions in the process or when you are preparing to start! You've got this!!

Where are clinical locations and classroom locations for San Antonio? Is Accelerated BSN combined with VBSN or are they separate cohorts completely?

Our "home" base is University Hospital. That is where the "bootcamp", testing, simulation days, study groups, etc are located. As for clinical you are either assigned to University or one of the Methodist hospitals (Methodist in the medical center or NE Methodist). You do get to put down a preference but you might not always get it. As for the cohort, you are blended together. The only real difference between us is the course number that we sign up for. Everything else is the same for both groups. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Is there anyone from the Dallas cohort who can provide the same info?

Is anyone applying for Abilene? Also, how are all of you funding your second bachelor’s degree? Using FAFSA or other methods?

Hi, did you confirm with Texas Tech if they accept patho from community colleges? I am also in Dallas and would like to save money taking it at community college instead of a university but I know some nursing programs only accept it if it’s taken at their school. ?

I am a graduate of this program (2016). They took my community college patho credit.
