Hello everyone!! I know it may be a little early to start this thread for the Fall-16 Admissions into the SON @ TXST. The application Deadline is quickly approaching and I thought I'd start this. I am super nervous because I always hear that getting into nursing school is a difficult process. This will be my first time applying into any nursing school.
My Current Stats :
Overall GPA : 3.67
Science GPA : 3.61
I am taking my TEAS V in Jan a week before the application deadline. I know that is pushing it kind of close.
Yay!! I just requested to join the Facebook Group. So exciting!
I can't wait until we get more details. I followed the directions in the email to go to the 2016 conditionally admitted page, but it is not active yet Oh well.... I guess I just need to chill. This whole process is a hurry up and wait situation. lol
CONGRATULATIONS everyone!!!! We are very excited to meet you during orientation... It may feel like forever until August, but really try to relax and enjoy the summer break. For those of you who did not receive a yes, and were told that you will be placed on a wait list, do not worry! I know, easier said than done.... but I did not get accepted until June, along with a few others. It is still a possibility, finish off your classes strong.
Congratulations again class of 2018!!!

CONGRATULATIONS to all who made it in!!! I can't wait to see all of y'all at Day One in August
And for those of you who didn't hear the greatest news, do not give up! We had quite a few folks who were denied at first or waitlisted that ended up making it into the program. And if you don't get in this round, just try again next year! I would suggest retaking the TEAS until you have a great score, finish all remaining prereq's and/or retake some for better grades, and get experience in the hospital environment. There are always patient care tech (PCT or "tech) or clinical assistant (CA) positions available; lots of hospitals need help! Don't lose hope. And let me know if you want help!
