Texas state fall 2018

I just wanted to start a thread for Those who have applied to Texas state SON for the fall of 2018 (:

I know the background check emails were sent almost a month after our applications were received so MAYBE they kinda look through the applications during that period and already narrow down who they want and don't want? Not even sure if this is a real thing, just throwing it out there. Just because I know everyone who is considered should get the email... but that could totally not be it. It is weird that they wouldnt if they met the minimums especially since they go to Texas State and they take priority in that.

I had that SAME thought tbh! But I've kinda calmed myself down on that just bc I got the email super early, so if there isn't any significance to it I don't wanna be even more upset if I don't get in lol! I'd like to think when you got the email meant something, but there's also that part of me that is sooooo scared

I was thinking when you received the email correlated with when you sent in your application? I sent mine in early, and got the email early? who knows!

I sent mine in like 2 days before the close date & got the email on feb 16

Yeah same here! But our applications were due January 15th so that's almost a month later than when we submitted it!

Ok wrong theory! I sent mine December 15 and got the email feb 16.

I'm freaking out and want to put my stats up here to get yalls feedback...

TEAS 88% composite

Science GPA: 3.75

Pre req GPA: 3.67

I am also a certified nursing assistant and volunteer with hospice.

I am near an anxiety attack waiting on Saturday... What do you think my chances are?

Also, if you retake a science course, do both of the grades go towards your science GPA or just the replacement?

I met all requirements, have a GPA of 3.74, and didn't get the email for a background check! I'm sort of just waiting until Saturday to see what happens!

I know a lot of eligible people who also didn't get it, so I can't imagine it means anything bad. At least we only have to wait 4 more days :)
