Working Over Time.

hey guys, i was wondering if there is a restriction to how many

hours you can work in a week?

this is because some people have two jobs, a fulltime job and PRN job,

so can u work both, the same week, and get like 72HRs??

There is a restriction against working while impaired from lack of rest. The supervisor who sends someone home because they are incapable of staying awake on the job or they are committing errors due to fatigue is rare. Mostly this is overlooked, as long as you don't collapse in a corner somewhere, you are considered to be a body at work. Most supervisors are aware of their colleagues that are working around the clock. It is an individual responsibility not to work while impaired, that includes being impaired from fatigue. Should you have an accident from falling asleep at the wheel, you could be charged. That is another consideration.

I have worked up to 86 hours in 1 single week, between my full-time weekend doubles job at a nursing home and my PRN job at a small psychiatric hospital. It can be done, but I wouldn't want to do it again!
