Can anyone give me some insight on how much these fields make out of school in Texas? How much should i expect per hour for each field?

Which is the most/least challenging?

Thanks in advance

Perhaps this should be posted in the Texas Nurses Forum for a wider array of responses from actual Texans who can accurately answer this question. Good luck!

Of course no one can give you an exact amount, but I 'm from Wichita Falls and asked around.... Here are some estimates.

Registered Nursing- anywhere between $18-24 depending on place

Respiratory Therapy- Hospital only starts at $15/hr, from what I here don't be afraid or grossed out by snot.

Radiology Tech- my boyfriend is the Director of Radiology @ a Rehab Hosp. and make about $5,000/month but pretty boring

Physical Therapist Assistant- about the same as the Resp. Therapist.

Good luck in what you do, but Please, please don't do nursing for the money.

I agree with Lovablelvn...don't go in it for the money. Those are the ones that end up "eating their young."

Specializes in OR Internship starting in Jan!!.

Rad Techs tend to make more than Resp Therapists, but a little less than nurses.

Um about the PTA- PTA's make from $22-$32/hr. they are in the top 10 most fast growing careers. They need PTA's so much right now that there getting $2,000-$5,000 sign in bonus if you work for them. There starting PTA's now at $30.00/hr. Nurses are not on the top ten anymore. sad for us. and PTA's are a lot more satisfied and happier than nurses. PTA's have flexible hours. Also PTA's when they work per diem they could make about $6,000 a month. I know this cuz I have friends and cousins that are working in this field. :uhoh21:
