Is anyone out there applying at UTA for the spring? I was wondering, if we are asked to interview, what month would that be? and does anyone know when they send out their final decision? Also, what goes on in the interview? Any tips? pls?

How are everyones classes going? I am so ready for pharm & pahto to be over with! We have 2 exams next week for both classes wed & thurs! good luck studying ayeisha! Goopsy, Hows the patho classe at TWU going? I'm ready for winter break!

yes misspink86 i do have a facebook. im not on it very much but ill be sure and join the group. im so scared about having that patho and phram test next week like that. ive been pretty busy bc im in the process of moving into my first apartment in december so ive been trying to get ready for that and then trying to study for both tests at the same time is killing me.lol. ive been trying to figure out a good strategy for balancing studying for both test but its just soo much information you need to know and understand

wow misspink! You stayed up late or got up really early :) I am really surprised too that people didn't post a lot on this forum. I did notice though that there were a lot of guests on this thread since u can see at the bottom how many people are reading the thread. My class, patho at TWU, is going good. It is really hard though. The instructor said it's the hardest class they offer because they try to "weed" their students out. Which is not cool bc they would then be weeding out students who have already been accepted into the nursing program. That was another thing that bothered me about TWU. We started out with 64 students and last class there were only 22! I'm sure some didn't even bother to come to class, but still, that's a lot of people who dropped! I, too, am soooooooooooo excited to get ready. I have been looking at stethoscopes lately. I want to get the littmann lightweight S.E. but I don't like that the "head" of it is made out of a plastic-like material; I think the regular littmann S.E. looks better since it has the metal "head", but I guess the plastic part on the lightweight is what makes it lighter than the other one. My friend has the lightweight, and she said that it saves her neck from hurting later. I want to start getting my immunizations done, and I need to get CPR done too. I can't wait!!!

Yeah I was up really late studying and on allnurses lol Wow that is a lot of people that dropped the class. The patho class at UTA is pretty good, she provides the lectures online now and provides a test review. I want a pink stethoscope ( of course, my favorite color is pink:), but Im not sure which brand yet. Let me know which one you end up getting. Do you know which PDA you are going to get? I was thinking the ipod touch, but Im not sure. I've already started on my hep b vaccinations..I get my last hep series III the end of this month. I went to the Arlington Public Health Center on randol mill and it was only 20.00 a shot. As oppose to UTA its around 50-60!!! pricey!

As far as the CPR classI think Im gonna take it at UTA I know they offer it but Im not sure of the dates.

I checked on webct today and under courses it says Nursing Orientation...I tried to click on it but it says access denied, I guess they will open it up later!

Wow, that's nice that she provides the lectures online! My favorite color is pink too, and I have been looking at the pink ones as well, but I wan't sure if we were all required to buy the same color or not. I don't know. But I have had my eye on the hot pink/raspberry color and the limited edition breast cancer light pink one too. Since I have heard so many bad things about other brands, I'm not going to risk buying anything other than a littmann, that way I know it's good and will last. As far as the pda, I would get the ipod touch. My husband bought me one for my birthday in May, and I like it a lot. Plus, you could use it as an ipod (not just for school), but if you bought another kind of pda, I don't think you would like it since they are more business-like. If you got the ipod touch, you could use it for school and outside of school. I will take my CPR at UTA probably as well. I am not sure when either. I hope we get a packet reallllllly soon. I have not started on shots yet. I did get my tetorifice last year, but as far as the other ones, I will have to get a titer most likely. Yay! I can't wait to start everything :yelclap:

So, I keep checking webct, but I can't find anything that says Nursing Orientation on mine. Wonder why that is? Do you guys still have that on yours? I know we were supposed to get an email at the end of November telling us when orientation info was available on webct and all the info was released to us. But today is Nov. 30, so I'm just curious as to when we will find out. Have you guys heard anything at school?

I havent heard anything either. I have been checking web ct but I still get the "no access" when I click on the orientation link.

I am getting so scared about my final in pharm. I didnt do so great on my last test and now I,ve went from a really high B avg to a really low C avg. thanks to that test. I am borderlining failing the class. I know you have to pass pharm and patho to get into nursing school even if you were already accepted into the program. ughh i am soo stressed now.

hey ayeisha!! Wow, that test must have been really hard!! I would be scared too if I were in your shoes. I know you can do it though!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you know what went wrong on your last test? Like maybe you focused on the wrong thing or you made little mistakes? Have you talked to the prof? Just focus on passing so you can start in the Spring with us!! So you said you are borderline pharm, but what about patho? Are you doing OK in there?

About the orientation, I don't even see that link on my Webct when I log in. I just have Pharmacology listed as a course, which I took back in the summer.

no i dont know what went wrong. There was just way more material on the test this time and the questions were very vague. ironically i made an A on my patho test which I had taken a day before my pharm test. I have around a 95 avg in patho so im not worried about that class. I was talking to one lady today that was telling me she was accepted into uta's nursing school for the spring and is taking pharm this semester. she said she had to make an 88 on the final in order to make a C avg in the class. The only thing i could think of to tell her was to pray. lol. I plan on going to the post-review session we have for pharm so I can see what questions I missed. How are your classes going Goopsy?

hmm i think im going to call the nursing dept. and ask about the whole orientation thing.

wow...she needs an 88? Daaang. That is going to be pretty hard, but hopefully she can do it! I know you will do great. Just remember this is everything you have ever wanted!!

My class is going great, thanks for asking! I finished intro about a month ago, since it was online. And pharm I finished in the summer. So, right now, I'm just taking patho. It is hard and a challenge, and I need to make a B on this test to keep my B. Hopefully, I will! I am not used to making B's; I don't like it, but I figured that I have worked so hard that it's ok this time :) Hopefully your classes are going great misspink!

Hey guys,

Im stressing over Pharm too! That last test was killer to me! The lady needs to make an 88, thats nothing compared to this other girl I overheard her speaking and she needs to make a 94 on the final!!! What do you need to make on the final to keep your C Ayeisha? you need 490 points to make a borderline C and that includes the 3 quizzes we took.
