Hello Everyone!! I am excited about applying for Fall 2018 admission at Mountain View program! I am worrying about my points that I will apply with? Does anyone know the lowest amount of points they accept. I look forward to talking to everyone!

Is it true that El Centro got their accreditation taken away earlier this week? Is that why you're applying to Mountain View as well?

Yes. Well they didn't call it that but yes that pretty much happened... they offered the applicants to apply for their LVN program or other allied health programs or transfer our application to another dcccd college. However, we still have to follow the requirements for whatever dcccd college my application is transferred to. I might as well apply on my own.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. I'm rooting for you, you got this

I heard the same with El Centro too! Hopefully there aren't as many applicants this semester for MVC. Don't they accept 40 in the Fall? And top 50 people get invited for an interview and essay?

Omg guys.. so I took my critical thinking exam yesterday for Brookhaven and I made a sorry 66 on it. That exam was so confusing and hard. There was no way to study for it either. Guess I won't be applying to Brookhaven at all this semester then.

I did go get my flu shot yesterday since I didn't get it at all this past season. Hopefully we all get in at MVC. Fingers crossed!!!

I think you will still be okay with the points you have.í ¾í´ží ¼í¿¾

The best thing to do is to not put your eggs all in one basket and apply to as many programs as you can!!!

Also, I believe if you're an employee at Parkland hospital.. they have a partnership with UTA's accelerated program. So every semester they accept 10 applicants/students from Parkland hospital. Usually not all 10 people from there apply, so for the most part, people usually get in. Parkland employee get priority I'm guessing.

Have you thought about TCC or Collin College? I'm applying to 4 different programs. I've already turned in applicationsl to Brookhaven (that's my first choice) I applied last semester and was 1 point off from getting an interview. I retook my HESI scored higher so I'm more confident this app cycle. I applied for TCC and was an alternate last cycle so the retake of my Hesi will up my chances there. I'm applying here at MV not sure of my chances here but hey it doesn't hurt to try and then I'm applying to Collins Program. I'm just ready to be in a program. So I'm making sure I apply to every program possible. The whole El Centro situation is so sad I think the worst part about it is they know in January their status. I have a friend who started the TWU nursing program this spring who mentioned it to me. We went online to TBON and pulled up the information about El Centro there. Around mid January is when the Board stated that they could not longer admit new student but they already knew it could happen because they had been on a type of probation for low NCLEX passing rates. I think they did y'all wrong. But just don't limit yourself to one program and don't give up.

I think you will still be okay with the points you have.

I wish I could but as of now my points are below 27, and that's the minimum requirement for the points at Brookhaven :(

Oh well.. If I don't get accepted into MVC, I'm applying to Texas a&m commerce for spring 2019. Their hesi only require reading, grammar, and vocab!

I completely agree. I was going to apply at El Centro but didn't because a friend at NCTC told me the same thing that they were on probation so don't apply. Glad I listened. Yes apply to several schools. You will get into one of them!

I agree with you! Honestly the only problem right now is I'm limited to applying to certain programs. I took SCIT 1407 and 1408 instead of BIOL 2401 and 2402. So that's why right now I'm only applying to MVC because they accept those classes there. In the summer I'll retake my a&p classes so I'll be able to apply to more programs in the fall! I'm so ready to just get in, be done, and be a nurse and start working already. Lol it's been a long journey already!

Oh ok gotcha. Well my microbiology class will expire in December 2018 since I took it at TWU for my previous bachelors. So I'm racing against the clock before my classes expire.í ½í¹„ thank goodness that once I'm accepted it won't matter!

Hey guys I'm new to Allnurses, however I am always reading different forums on this site so today I decided to make me an account!! Yay lol, I want to know do you ladies know when is Mountain View's spring 2019 deadline? I tried looking on the website, but the only thing it shows is April 2nd which is the Fall admission deadline. I want to be sure Im covered for the next admission date. My original plan was to applying to El Centro ADN program in July with 44 points, but they have totally crushed my plans (that's my fault though because I put all my energy into one school Never again will I do that!!)
