El Centro Fall 2018

U.S.A. Texas

I will be applying to the fall 2018 semester at El Centro. I am excited but also nervous that I might not have enough points. How many points will everyone else be applying with?

I was told by El Centro they will be giving some points for HPRS 1204 but none of the HPRS courses are accepted at Brookhaven, they have to be RNSG only. I'm not sure about Mountain View though.

Let the long wait commence!! í ½í¸‚ I swear this is the hardest part if the application process.lol

I did ask about that course (HPRS) and the nursing coordinator said the dean "may" award points for it. It doesn't sound promising to me but let's just wait and see.

Yes I agree! I'm nervous because this is the first school I've ever applied to... 4 years after graduating high school and I'm ready for this!

HPRS 1202 and 1204 will be accepted for the Fall 2018 program.

I'm glad they're taking those courses. I am taking both RNSG pathophysiology and pharmacology in case I have to reapply for the spring.

I took A&P in Summer 2013. So.it expires summer 2018. Do you guys know if it is still is okay since it doesn't expire before application deadline or can it not expire by program start date? I am now freaking out

I think it will be ok since the application deadline requirements are what they look at first. However, to be 100% sure, you should go down & talk to Jesse. He'll be able to give a concrete answer for sure. FYI, Brookhaven classes never expire. Their ADN program is 16 months & you don't have to make 80 on all your HESI sections, just a 76 overall score. They don't count history, government, speech, etc either. You just have to pass your pre-req's & then you get pts for A&P II, microbiology, & pharmacology depending on your grade for those classes. A=3 pts, B=2 pts, C=1 pt. You also have to do a 1 day drug calculation workshop & pass with at least a 90. You can take it at least twice if nessary, maybe more. The only other difference in Brookhacen & North Lake/El Centro is Brookhaven requires a minimum of intro to chem. If your pts total at least 27, you can apply. Then you have an interview and a professional writing sample to do. They also don't require the Hep A vaccine. Nort Lake is 5 minutes from my house but North Lake/El Centro has caused me so many problems I'm changing to Brookhaven. Brookhaven has an excellent NCLEX pass rate & El Centro is on prooation right now because theirs was so bad. Mountain Vieww's program is similar to Brookhaven's but they require speech, PE, & algebra I for pre-req's & students that have taken a lo of their classes from Mountain View get 1st consideration. If at all possible, you should apply to all 3 to increase your odds of getting into at least one. Good luck!

Has everyone checked their emails? I just received one from El Centro stating they are not enrolling at El Centro nor Northlake for Fall 2018s ADN program! This is due to the low pass rate on the NCLEX-RN exam.

I got the email today. You think they would've figured this out sooner... I'm a little upset about it. Taking that HPRS course last year was such a waste of time. They offered to send our apps to other schools but we still have to meet their requirements. What's the point of sending our apps if they will be incomplete? For example, Mountain View requires a background check AND a insurance card for the application. I might as well apply on my own.

Are they still accepting for LVN-RN bridge Fall 2018?

The letter does not specifically mention the bridge program but it is definitely something I would bring up with the dean of nursing program if I were you. The phone number is somewhere on the website.
