2018 Lone Star ADN Hopefuls - Spring

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hey there!

I wanted to start this page for anyone who is applying for the Spring 2018 Lone Star ADN or LVN program! I've seen previous posts, from previous years, and everyone was really helpful and encouraging to one another.

I am taking A&P 1 over the summer (starts 7/13) and then I will be submitting my application!! Im so nervous. I already took the HESI and got a score on 90.8%, which gives me and 3.6 on the point scale. I have an A in Eng 1301 and hope to get an A in A&P this summer.

In the fall I am taking A&P2 along with Micro (ugh). So if anyone else is in the same boat, let me know!!!

Anyway, I look forward to hearing from everyone 2MzmrmldDUluFszY4BeNRUhFw8YnK8nLzkBNSYABAA==

yes! let's start a facebook page for kingwood

I'm in the same situation as you. I know when you read through the attachments that was emailed to us, it stated we have to verify English language proficiency through examination. But when you copy and paste the link that accompanied the statement you will see other ways you can verify it. For me, I already have an Associate degree in arts, so that's what I will submit.

Check out this link: English Proficiency Requirement Information for Nursing Programs. I hope that helps

@Alicia1 & zineb21...I've created the FB page...but to be added I need your email addresses.

I was replying @ Zineb21 regarding the English language proficiency requirement. I was accepted to Cyfair. Those that will be going to Kingwood, provide @ Shrn18 your email or @ Shrn18 can you give them the name of the Facebook page so that they can find it and join.

Sorry fellow KW Student Nurses...forgot the FB info.

It's listed as Kingwood ADN 2018. :)

Anyone understand the statement under influenza in CastleBranch??

It says: "Submit documentation of a flu shot administered during the current flu season. Date received must be dated after August 1 and before October 1 to gain approval.

Documentation MUST indicate that the vaccination you received is from a batch for the current flu season."

They date already passed..... I'm assuming the date will pushed back since the everything else has been pushed back??

What do yall think?

I found this on the Castle Branch FAQ...I'm not really sure if this answers the question or not because I'm confused as well..

Influenza (Flu)

The flu season is commonly considered to run August-May.

The influenza season typically runs August-May but the vaccine may become available in some locations as soon as August. Consult your healthcare provider or pharmacy to determine the vaccine release schedule in your area.

Please refer to the due date listed for your influenza requirement prior to receiving your vaccination. Typically, your influenza requirement due date is past your overall tracker due date. This time extension is provided to ensure the 2016-2017 vaccination strain is available to be administered.

If you received the 2015-2016 influenza vaccine this year, you will need to be vaccinated again for the 2016-2017 strain. The influenza virus is constantly changing and the formulation of the vaccine is adjusted every season to keep up with the change in the virus.

Congratulations everyone!
