2018 Lone Star ADN Hopefuls - Spring

Published

Hey there!

I wanted to start this page for anyone who is applying for the Spring 2018 Lone Star ADN or LVN program! I've seen previous posts, from previous years, and everyone was really helpful and encouraging to one another.

I am taking A&P 1 over the summer (starts 7/13) and then I will be submitting my application!! Im so nervous. I already took the HESI and got a score on 90.8%, which gives me and 3.6 on the point scale. I have an A in Eng 1301 and hope to get an A in A&P this summer.

In the fall I am taking A&P2 along with Micro (ugh). So if anyone else is in the same boat, let me know!!!

Anyway, I look forward to hearing from everyone 2MzmrmldDUluFszY4BeNRUhFw8YnK8nLzkBNSYABAA==

Hey guys, I am currently taking English 1301 and as of now, i'm making an A! I was told today by someone in the nursing department that they are offering a fast track a&p class this spring that will allow me to apply for the program in March. Do you think it's a good idea to go into the program without A&P II and the other prereqs? I'm a mother of two so i'm concerned I will be setting myself up for failure.

Also, Congrats to those of you who were accepted! As I was reading this thread I was rooting for all of you. :)

you have to email the nursing director with your proof of flu vaccine. Castle Branch isn't accepting them for some reason.

I'm in AP1 currently, hybrid class and it is NOT easy. I also have two children. Unless you already have a pretty good idea on A&P material, I definitely do not suggest the fast track. Unless you have a lot of free time.

Hello all, just thought I'd let y'all know that they are starting to call on alternates. I got the call today, so heads up!

I just took my Hesi with a total score of 81.6 and CT 880. I made a C in A&P1 and a A in English I'm not sure how to calculate my points but I think I may be in the 6 range. I'm very nervous because I don't think that will be good enough to get in the program or if they even accept scores in the 6 range. I want to apply to lonestar Montgomery and North Harris. Does anyone know if my scores will be good enough?

I believe you have around a 6.1 if I calculated it correctly. Unfortunately from what I've read on here, I don't think you'd be accepted into the nursing program with that score. My suggestion is to take A&P 2 and try to shoot for an A. If you get your A, then you'll be around a 7.2 which you will have a good chance of being accepted into the ADN or LVN programs.

agreed accion- the cut off was 7.4 something last round for ADN I believe.

Did you get into the program?

Me? yes and no. I was conditionally accepted but I was not able to finish my check list before the deadline so my spot was forfeited.

what was your score and for what location?
