I checked the portal and it doesn't specify anything, but just application status received. Is there another portal to check besides the application one?

No, that is it. Historically it will say declined if someone didn't get in. 
I wonder if she's started to make the phone calls

I don't see anything on there. It just lists the app and its items received and when. Nothing has a recent date on it. It was a good thought though!
