They are still making phone calls. People on the waitlist don't lose hope. Just got called off the waitlist, but I'm declining my spot.

Only if/when you get selected for interviews.

if you got an interview but you had a prior obligation on that day, do you know if they are willing to work with you for another date?

Don't do it.  Every person on this website who I've read requested new dates never heard back from them or something weird happened.  If you can switch stuff around, I personally would
