Hey everyone! I couldnt find a thread for this so I figured I would make one. I am applying for the Spring of 2023 DE-MSN program and I was told that only 20 spots remaining. I was hoping someone here already got accepted and wouldn't mind sharing their stats. I'm waiting on my 3 reference letters to be completed then I will be submitting my application.

I sure will! I was getting help from an enrollment specialist, would I ask her?

Yes! All the enrollment specialists should have access to it ☺️ mine was Kelcie and she added me to it

Hi everyone, congrats on the acceptances. I will be applying for fall 2024 and would love to chat with someone about the application process and if they would like to share any tips.

I don't mind helping you ?

Hi! I just got accepted into the DEMSN program starting Spring '24 and would love to chat with anyone doing the program then or anyone already in the program!

Just curious, since this was sent some time ago, how has it been finding employment? I have heard so many mixed reviews about doing a DEMSN program, but I feel like a lot of them were fairly bias.

The first cohort of the program has one semester left and the second cohort just started in January. So no update on job. However, many of the soon to be graduates have already interviewed and had no problem getting the jobs of their choice.

Thank you so much for such a quick reply. I have been told so many negative things that it has been very off putting. I already have a degree and I really didn't want to start all over again, but I am on a 9/11 GI Bill and I really do not want to get into this program and not be able to find work. I've only heard good things about the school, so I have been very confused seeing and hearing other people talk so negatively about getting an MSN with little bedside nursing experience.

Hey y'all I'm still deciding whether or not to apply to this program. Just so confused why there is no stories or experiences being shared about this program online??! For those of you in it currently, how is it going? Would you recommend it? Is the pacing OK? How rigorous and demanding is it? Do you feel like you're getting the right amount of time etc to feel confident enough to pass the NCLEX and work as an RN?

Good afternoon. I am in the first cohort of this program and we are set to graduate in 8 weeks. Overall, my personal experience has been great. There have been some challenges with scheduling and communication however I believe these are universal to all programs.  The level of preparation has been great. Initially, the program is very content heavy, and as time progresses, the content becomes easier, however, the time commitments become more challenging, as the clinical hours increase every semester. We've been lucky to have great clinical experiences and way more hours compared to other schools in the area. Most, if not all of my cohort already has their first jobs lined up and everyone I know has gotten exactly what they want. It is rigorous and time consuming, but overall we are very well prepared to pass NCLEX. Most of the teachers are excellent and a wealth of info.

Wow. This made me feel really good! It is so nice to hear from the first cohort! What are some of the careers that you and your classmates have picked? Also, what was your first semester schedule like? Are there any scheduled breaks? I was accepted into the program a month or so ago and I can't even explain my excitement. TIA!

Thanks for such a quick response back! It's refreshing to hear all this because there's not much places to find this information. Out of the 20 or so of you who started how many made it to the end?

I'm glad to hear the first cohort has had better experiences than us. I can say our cohort has had anything but and so far it's just gotten worse for us. I will agree there's a level of disorganization among all nursing schools not just TLU but honestly our experience has been unacceptable. So far we lost 3 in semester 1.
