Hi! I haven't noticed a thread made for this year, but I know I am not alone in applying to CRNA school, figured a way for everyone to share updates and stats! Super scary/exciting applying this year but I wish everyone the best!
My stats:
GPA 3.70, GRE 307 4.5 writing, CCRN, 2 years now as a CVICU RN. I have taken organic chemistry 1 in the fall.
I would say just give it a bit of time. They do have hundreds of applications and lots of seats open. Did you speak to Amanda? I was in contact with her A LOT prior to getting the interview.
if it helps, here are my stats, I have never shared them.
4.5 years CTICU/SICU/trauma experience
3.89 masters GPA, halfway done though it’s not completed.
3.48 nursing GPA
3.78 prerequisites
308 GRE, 4 writing.
shared governance treasurer for 2 years.
have CCRN, CMC, TNCC, NIHSS, PALS, ACLS, BLS
You’re right, just trying to be patient! Thanks for sharing stats, you’re way more competitive than I am LOL. I have a 3.7 BSN from an accelerated program, 309 GRE with 4.5 on writing, have CCRN ACLS and PALS since they were required but I only have about a year of medical/surgical ICU experience so I’m not expecting anything
Don’t be discouraged! You sound like a strong applicant. You’ll get an interview or at least get an email stating otherwise. Remember, lots of people are declining their interview as they already got accepted elsewhere. I haven’t gotten back to them, but I think I’ll be kindly declining it. Again, I think they have like 100+ seats to fill and hundreds of applications. I am sure they are just going though them all!
I started my application early.. maybe end of July.. but didn’t officially submit everything until sep 1 when my references submitted their letter. I also submitted my essay like sep 1. But the rest of my application was started early.
I didn’t meet the deadlines/ requirements in time for any of the other Texas schools so I could only apply to TWU this year! But next year I will be able to apply to all the programs since I will already have everything done. I started as a new grad late last year so it’s been a lot trying to get GRE CCRN ACLS and PALS done as well as getting to know my supervisors well enough so that they would write me a rec letter. Guess we will see how this goes!
That happened to me last year ? except I wasn’t able to submit my application at all LOL. Cause I kept delaying my GRE and finally took it in January. & I barely started applying this year after 4 years in critical care bcus I am a travel nurse, so I wanted to have money saved and just travel prior to starting apps.
I also started my masters in 2018 just to make myself a stronger applicant as my nursing GPA is low. But.. all of that was unnecessary. I should have just applied like.. IDK earlier ? but I don’t regret it! Bcus of travel nursing, I have lived in Boston, Dallas, Nashville, and I have spent almost 2 years in LA! So I guess, everything happens for a reason. In the end, we will end up where we are meant to be! ?
oh OK I guess I don't know what happened...I submitted on Sept 1st but references completed on 9/3. I only have 1+ year of ICU experience in a level 1 trauma center, 3.9 all GPA, nursing GPA 3.9, 4.0 science GPA ( I have extra science classes because I got a lot of pre-pharm classes), GRE 328, writing 4.0, CCRN/ACLS/PALS/BLS/NIHSS, unit council committee... U sounds very well rounded.. possibly they are putting me on the waitlist for the interview LOL because I have a hole considering overall. Thank you for sharing! @Janejane1
I guess we will just patiently wait..nothing else we can do...@hopefulSRNA2021

I am the same...
@Janejane1hey at least you will have a lot more money saved up from those travel assignments and also got some valuable experience in the different areas! Congrats on getting in this year!
