Published

Hi! I haven't noticed a thread made for this year, but I know I am not alone in applying to CRNA school, figured a way for everyone to share updates and stats! Super scary/exciting applying this year but I wish everyone the best!

My stats:
GPA 3.70, GRE 307 4.5 writing, CCRN, 2 years now as a CVICU RN. I have taken organic chemistry 1 in the fall.

What are you thinking?? I'm leaning more towards UT but I think it's primarily because of the price difference.... Just don't want to sell myself short if BCM is truly a superior program!

I did hear that Baylor was superior and they only took the top crop.

I read that what you didn't pay in tuition for uth you made it up for in lab and stuff so you may want to look into that.

But who knows? I'm sure any of them are fine.

I am definitely going with Baylor I think. I really enjoyed their interview process and just overall felt like I got a better idea of what it would be like to be a student there.
The prices at UT are hard to beat, but there is something to be said about Baylor being #2 in the nation. Also, by starting at Baylor a few months in advance, we graduate sooner and therefore start making CRNA money a little earlier. That being said, both programs are very good and you can’t go wrong either way

I also was accepted to UT Houston!

Has anybody made a group yet?

I got it yesterday!

Wow @aggies1896, I didn’t even look at it from that perspective! Yes UTH may be a little less costly, but with Baylor and other programs that start sooner, you get to graduate faster and start making CRNA money quicker!! This  compensates for the lower tuition at UTH. Great perspective! There’s another program that I have an interview w coming up but the major thing impeding me from going to this school was cost!! It is ranked #4! It’s also in my favorite city!! So if I get admitted there, I think I’ll also pick over Ut!

Congratulations on all of you who have gotten an interview/acceptance. Has anyone heard anything back from Texas Wesleyan University regarding priority seating interview selections? I am just here refreshing my email every couple of minutes. I know someone said, mid Sept they would let us know for Oct interviews. I have until today resisted emailing admissions to ask. Does anyone have any idea.? Thanks in advance.

You could email to ask them! I did that a few months ago when they first offered an interview just to find out when the dates might be and they answered quickly and were nice.

I was offered an interview from Texas Wes back in august and they said it would be scheduled sometime in October but they didn’t say when!

I emailed yesterday and was told they still have over 100 applications to go through and we will hear something within the next few weeks. Originally I was told we should hear something by the end of this month so I guess they’re running behind. For those of you that have already been selected for interviews at TWU what sites did you guys put for clinicals?

I turned down my interview because I was accepted else where!

it sounds like people who submitted applications back in June or July got interview invites on July 22ish. I have not heard anyone that submitted around priority dedaline got interview invites.

I email Amanda about a week ago; she told me they are still processing 100+ applications and by mid October we should hear something.

I wonder if they send interview invites at the same time after viewing all applications? Or they just send invites as they go...
