Texas Christian University (TCU) | Texas Woman's University (TWU) CRNA School Application for 2020

Published

Hey everybody! I am planning on applying to TWU and TCU for the year 2020 and I am curious how competitive my stats are. I have 2.5 years experience in the CV/CICU at a Magnet teaching hospital. My overall GPA is 3.5. GRE 309 ( 306 V 303 Q 4.0). I have my BLS, PALS, ACLS, CCRN-CSC-CMC. What are my chances of getting in?

I just step up a FaceTime interview for next week with TWU. They said it's part of a "fast-track" interview if you meet certain criteria.

Hey everyone! I also applied to TCU and TWU and got an interview for both. My TCU interview is Aug 27th at 1500. I know they have a new director and some new staff this year - has anyone interviewed yet or know if the interview process has changed for TCU?

How did your interview go? Any tips? Did they ask clinical questions? Thanks!!

I’d be interested to hear how your interview went as well. My friend is in the TWU Program and is graduating soon. He said their interview is a getting to know you process with minimal clinical questions. I’ll be interviewing there sometime between the 28-30th of October.

Good luck to everyone that interviews or interviewed today!

Hey everyone, so for those who asked, my stats are not insanely good. I have a 3.8 GPA, 4.0 in my sciences including recent chemistries. 301 on GRE, 4.5 on writing. Can’t remember my exact CCRN score I think it was low 100s.

TCU interview was as everyone said: not clinical, more personal and wanting to know about you. They said we should hear by end of September, but I’ve heard that in reality it might be sooner. They are finishing interviews up this week. The phone interview with TWU was not clinical either and they offered me a seat before it was over. They asked about how old my algebra is (about 6 years old) and about my recent chemistry courses. I just took chem 1 and chem 2 and got As in both. I would bank on Texas Wesleyan being more clinical if you’re going in person, at least that is what I have heard. I’m also interviewing at UT Houston in a couple weeks. I have heard that interview is brutal, but we will see!

Hey guys,

I'm wondering if anybody else here got put on the alternate list for TCU for 2020? I am just curious how many people are on the alternate list/what my chances are of still getting in for this cycle. I don't know if there are 5 people or 45 people on the alternate list. Thanks guys! And congratulations to everybody who was accepted.

I also got put on the alternative list. They told me they have 15 people on that list, none of which are numbered. They said they don’t number these candidates until they know how many slots are open (if any) and they will go through the same selection process as the individuals that have been accepted. Good luck! I hope the Best for you

Thanks for the information! 15 is definitely better than 45. I have a feeling a few slots will open up but probably not 15. Good luck to you too! Wishing the best for you too.
