Texas Children's Summer 2020

Published

I wanted to start this for students/first year nurses who are applying at Texas Children's for the summer 2020 cohort, the application should open end of February/March. If anyone has insight to the firm timeline, good contacts, unit specific knowledge, this would be a good place do talk about it!

Anyone else not hear back at all? I didn’t receive anything after I applied. I’m kinda frustrated and confused. I applied one of the first days it was open! Thinking I messed up the application or something?!

Keep hope. I heard there were more units than expected accepting grads which has caused a delay in the process.

I declined my interview so maybe someone will hear back for hemo/onco!! Good luck to y’all?

How long should I keep hope before reaching out, LOL. Will they at least send out a rejection email when they’re done with interviews ?

Did you decide on going to another hospital?

Honestly not sure. I'm thinking maybe our status will change if rejected?

I reached out and haven’t heard back yet but I do know they send rejection emails

How do the interviews go? Are there any weird questions or is the process similar to the norm (behavioral questions, etc.)?

I felt like my interview was awkward because I work on the unit I interviewed for. but yes the questions were behavioral

name a time you had an disagreement with another student (you had to use a student based scenario)

Strengths and weakness

tell about time you had to break a commitment, what was the situation, consequences and final outcome

Tell about a time you had to use clinical course work and apply it to practice

I forgot the rest I'm sorry but it was at least 7 questions.
