Texas Children’s Nurse Residency Summer 2019

Hello fellow almost-graduate nurses! I know it’s early, but I wanted to go ahead and start this topic. I’m going to be applying to Texas Children’s Nurse Residency in The Woodlands campus. I’ll also be applying to Children’s MH & Me Memorial Hermann The Woodlands! Feel free to post here with any info you guys have and I will do the same. We’re all in this together!

Has anyone heard from both LBJ and Ben Taub for interviews? Or is it a one or the either type of deal with interviews?

LBJ and BT have two separate interview dates. You may get invites from both.

Did anyone check ask the interviewers for PICU when we can expect to hear something back?

I didn’t interview with PICU but the unit I interviewed with just kinda said we’d hopefully hear back within the next couple of weeks, but they didn’t know when because they wouldn’t be the ones calling. She said it would be someone through the GN program that will call.

PICU said 3-4 weeks, realistically. The recruiter, Laura Gabriel, will be making calls for all offers on all units so it will be over several days.

Does anyone know how many people ended up interviewing with PICU? I’m nervous because there’s only 6 spots.

Hi, I am graduating in August and plan to apply for the residency program for Fall 2019. I have heard that TCH is the last place to interview and send out offers... with that said how are you guys doing with other interviews and offers from other hospitals? Do they allow you some time period to accept?
