Texas Children’s Nurse Residency Summer 2019

Hello fellow almost-graduate nurses! I know it’s early, but I wanted to go ahead and start this topic. I’m going to be applying to Texas Children’s Nurse Residency in The Woodlands campus. I’ll also be applying to Children’s MH & Me Memorial Hermann The Woodlands! Feel free to post here with any info you guys have and I will do the same. We’re all in this together!

I'm wondering if the open house is for all locations..

I emailed Laura yesterday. She said that they were trying to finalize the interview schedule. So hopefully by tomorrow.

I just received a call from from Laura. She's probably working her way down the list today.

We can only interview for one unit. Apparently there was some miscommunication about the two units.

From my impression with Laura, she seemed to allow me to pick the unit, and didn't have one lined up for me (Jamie/Tory at open house implied they would be scouring our resumes, personal statements, and transcripts to "pick" a unit for us, but this didn't seem like the case.

I chose PICU.

My two other classmates and I chose NICU. I wish they would tell us how many spots they have!
