Testing Today 2nd Attempt---Please Pray

Published

I could use all the support avail. Hubby is deploying soon and I am having our 3rd little one in time now (the other 2 are ages 5 and almost 2) so I dont know when I could possibly find time to study and test again.....

Thx in advance

Thank you short1978. hikari... or anyone who can answer this question.. I see that in your post you did not pass the first time and you stated that you were above the level of passing in every category except for one, and that was near passing. So you had no categories below the level of passing? Can this really happen? I wasn't aware....

I got 240 question on my first try, I got my result and at the back they tell you how you did. I was so upset when I found out that only one is near passing. I believe you have to pass all the category in order to overall pass and have your license. I did put more time to study that category, but I cannot figure during the test which category corresponds to the question. I know at least 10 question is similar to the one that I reviewed. Waiting for the results takes a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time. Anyway, for the meantime, I did prepare good meals for my daughter and enjoy being with them. I just followed my older daughter's advice "once you pick the answer, pray and COMMIT to it, do not doubt yourself".

Ok, I understand. That must have been very frustrating. I failed at 265 with all near the level of passing except for one category that was below. I am trying my best to stay positive this time.

I will know my result Monday or Tuesday. It was very frustrating and humiliating the first time. It took me weeks to get back to my feet and do the Learning extension online. There's tons to read, I did their test first and start reading the contents and redo the test again. This time, it sticks to my brain.

congrats!!!!!! you see...you did it!!! yay!!!!

The way the paperwork breaks down is in the categories. Like Patient Safety, Physiological Care w/ meds, etc.

It will then say whether you are Above, Near, or Below the passing level. You have to be ABOVE in all the categories. Near doesnt get you a pass grade.....it just lets you know that you were close.

you will want to focus on your Below levels and also on your Near levels.

So.....it doesnt really matter if it says Near or Below, you still werent ABOVE the level which is required.

Hope that helps.

I know exactly how you felt. I came home crying like a baby and I hadn't even got my results back. It is very hard to get back up after suffering a blow like that. What I found most frustrating is finding out that some of my classmates passed which barely got through school. I remember one of those classmates asking our instructor where the female prostate is located. Yes, she passed on first attempt. Makes me wonder.

Yep, I was in class with some of these.

They had no idea which end of the IV to stick with but could pass all of the tests!

And I'm the opposite. Tests aren't my strong point at all, but I'm great in the clinical setting; no classmates could beat me.

But I still need to get the test done so I can move on with my life like the OP has done here.

Sometimes I think it would be a whole different ballgame if the NCLEX consisted of practicals. But since that not the case, gotta do whats needed to knock this test out.

If you fail and get your printout on the various areas I would just read them and then devise a new study plan and start again as if never taken the test. We have had a few members fail a couple of times and each time looked at the areas they was poor in and when they got their results other areas lapsed. Much better to start all over again

Congraduations on passing!!!!!!
