Test on Thursday

Published

ahhhhhh my test is this thursday!! Starting to freak out about it! They are testing on every section except the physics thank god lol! Need a 75 to be considered. Im sooooo nervous!! I have been studying non stop for the past 3 weeks and been on here to look at every single tip possible lol. If I don't get at least a 75 then there goes my chance of getting in for this fall. I have to be there bright and early at 8am. Any last min words of advice or encouragement lol?

If you have put forth legitimate study efforts you're going to do AMAZING. Seriously. I studied hardly at all and still made a 90% overall. I'm retaking it to get a better score so I think you're going to do wonderful!!!!!!!

its really not that hard of a test, but definitely study!!

math: is basic. the book's practice problems cover everything you need to know. but you don't get a calculator so bring lots and lots of scratch paper. write clearly. i made many stupid mistakes because i did not write clearly

reading comprehension: you really need to read the questions carefully, they tend to make 2 answers sound right.

grammar: i didn't have any questions like "which is an adverb, adjective, ect" just fill in the blank for what makes the sentence sound right. the examples in the book and hesi hints really helped.

vocab: this is prob the hardest section for everyone. again they make 2 answers sound right, but there is one "best" answer for each question. on my test 10 out of 50 words were from the book. no medical terminology.

biology: i didn't have to take this section of the test so unfortunately i can't offer any advice on this one...

chemistry: again, basic. you are not allowed a periodic table but you don't need one. know your electrons, protons, neutrons, properties of water, acids/bases. there are also some biology related material in this test.

A&P: this test contains mostly anatomy, and the questions aren't difficult, but covers anything from location of a muscle to the specific functions of hormones, which makes it harder. take your time and really think over each response

i got an 88 the first time i took it and a 98 the second time.

Took it this morning and got an 84! Im happy with that :)

Wow I love everyone post! I'm more worried about the conversions. It only gives you that chart Is the conversions going to be in a word problem or what? I need more practice for the math conversions where could I get it from. My test is March 22. Anyone know about Gwinnett tech, Darton college in Swainsboro, Ga or Middle Georgia in Dublin. Those are my choices of schools but depending on the test is which one I will choose. Any advice on these colleges and the hesi. Gwinnett is taking the Kaplan.

there arent many conversion problems. know the chart in the math section of the hesi guide and you should be fine. they ask you something like "how many quarts are in 4 gallons?...how many ounces is that?" its not very hard. what sections do you need to take? all of them? only a few of them?

I know i'm a week behind this post....but the Hesi entrance exam was not hard at all if you study. :) I live in Tampa Florida, but i'm sure that the exam is the same. I took it on Wednesday. I needed a 70 to get in and I made a 87.5%. I start the program April 2nd. I'm excited and nervous. Good luck to everyone. :)

I was also worried about the conversions myself.. But, if you memorize the household conversions that's in the Hesi book, you will be fine :) Trust me. :) I made a 84% on the math portion. My overall exam average was a 87.5%. :) If you study, you will do great. :) Good luck to you. :) The math isn't hard at all.

How did you guys study for the Biology and Chemistry section please let me know!! im taking mine NEXT WEEK!!!

Hay all I made a 84% over all on my hesi today!!!! The school I applied for only looked at the english and math. You had to make atleast a 75. so We will see what happens!!!!!!!

Good job! Thats a good score!
