( been doing that for 19 years) . have done kaplan, rn quiz, neclex mystery, lippincott, name it i probably done and thousands of questions..Through out the test i kept getting select all that applies... What do i need to do to passs?? I need some advice and test taking tips. anything to help. I am so tired of being asked ""have you passed Yet" "when you going to retest?" feel like a major failure and that i will never finish my goal of being a registered nurse. A person with a degree in nursing but not licensed but I am a proud of my degreee and plan not to quit. just need some advice.

I also took the nclexrn today and got all the way to 265.. had alot of sata.. i lost count on them. Got home and did the pvt went to cc page. I was devastated but I am planning to retake it soon.. gotta get back on track.. just waiting for the official results so i can work on it..

Im wishing u all the best in your future endeavours.

First take a step back. Take your candidate performance reports. Are your strengths always the same? Did you get below or near passing standard in your first attempts and more recently exceed the passing standard? (If so there is obvious improvement so feel good about that. If not, don't fret)

If your CPR is inconsistent between attempts, perhaps you need to focus more on test taking strategies (most like Kaplan for this)

If your CPR is consistent, then clearly you need to focus on areas of weakness. If content (such as always below passing in pharmacology) is your weakness, many prefer Hurst or Saunders.

If you find it's test taking of alternate format there are NCLEX prep guides that focus on alternate format.

If prioritization is your weak spot, try Linda LaCharity's PDA (prioritization , delegation & analysis).

You can most definitely overstudy by using too many sources.

Cramming up to the last minute can adversely affect your test taking ability and concentration.

Many are more successful by taking a " personal day" the day/night before the test and relaxing (or at least trying to relax), eating a satisfying dinner, getting a good nights sleep and having a preferred breakfast before arriving a few minutes earlier at the test site. Do what helps you feel better whether it be meditation, prayer, attending church/place of worship, yoga, exercise, kickboxing, (insert activity of choice)
