Hi!
Good day to all members of allnurses.com.
i am a Registered nurse here in the Philippines. i want to hear some sound advices, suggestions and some helpful information about nursing life in Tennessee.
I got a contract in an agency here in the Philippines and there company are deploying Filipino nurses in Tn. i already passed all the foreign exams required to work in USA. now that i am steps away from my American dream...i need some enlightenment.
the following are my questions:
--> cost of living in Tn?
--> how much is the rate per hour of nurses working in hospitals in Tn?
people in Tn?
--> lifestyle in Tn (food, weather, leisure, etc.)
--> describe a nurse's life in Tn
--> WILL I GO TO TENNESSEE OR NOT?
--> USUALLY, HOW LONG WILL A FILIPINO NURSE WILL HAVE TO WAIT FOR HIS/HER PAPERS OR APPLICATION FOR AN IMMIGRANT VISA THRU A RECRUITMENT AGENCY TO BE FINISHED OR APPROVED?
your replies will be highly appreciated. i need some words of enlightenment and advices before i sign in my contract because honestly i am still confused if i accept the offer or not. i understand that many people will say that time is running fast so i should decide now...yes i am...but i want to make sure...100% sure.i hope you do understand. i must say that i'm still young (23 yrs old)..that's why i need some good advices and descriptive information.
thank you very much!
God bless!
all the best,

Hate to burst your bubble but if you haven't even started the process yet then you are looking at a few years due to retrogression. Retrogression is affecting all foreign nurses and makes no difference if direct or agency the queue and process is the same. Much has already been written on retrogression so suggest a search.
People can give their opinions on lifestyle and cost of living but certain things may change between now and when you arrive in the US
