Temporary License in California, Wait time ?

Hello Nurses,

I am Licensed Nurse in Texas but have applied for license endorsement in California board of Nursing. During applying, I thought It would come in couple of weeks but even after waiting 3 months, I am still waiting.

Now i would like to apply for temporary license so I can start woking ? Can someone tell/advise if i can still do it considering the fact that I didn't select apply for temporary license during endorsement application. Or if I can, can I walk in and submit ? Or how can I do it ?

How long they take to issue temporary license if I can still apply ?

It took me six months to get a California nursing license, and only because I finally managed to get someone on the phone after all that time. They told me they hadn't yet heard from the DOJ. When I checked with the DOJ they had sent the report months previously. When I called the Calif. BON after that they remarked that I had called the DOJ so they must have found out. But my license was in the mail that week.

When you applied for endorsement did you submit a live scan of your fingerprints for a Criminal Background check? That may be all that's required. Good luck getting through to the CA BON. My last dealing with them was very unsatisfactory. I ultimately went through the California Department of Consumer Affairs.
