Hi. I applied for Temple's New to Practice Program a few weeks ago and just received word that my initial application was accepted. In the FAQ's, it says that applicants will have to take competency exams after they are selected. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this program and if these competencies are just basically things we learned in nursing school.
Also, if anyone has completed this program, how is it? Temple is one of my dream hospitals to work for so I'm very excited and curious about this program.
Thanks so much!
Hi All,
I received an email last week stating that they are in the review and assessment phase of the application process. Shortly after they sent me a link to take 2 exams. I received that on a thursday I took the exams that saturday. That following thursday they replied by email that they would like an interview. I went to the interview monday the 17th. It was a panel interview consisting of 3 people. When I was speaking with the woman in HR she informed me that they had an overwhelming amount of applicants and for this cohort they only seemed to look at referral applications. I did not even know that I had been referred by someone but apparently I had. I felt that the interview went well and the main nurse manager said I did extremely well on the exams (I hope that works in my favor in choosing an applicant) Anyway, at the end of the interview she told me not to worry if I didn't hear back in a week. With the holiday approaching I feel like I wont hear back until after the holiday (quite stressful). I was wondering if anyone else who had an interview in nov/dec was a referral? I really hope they call back with a YES! Best of luck to everyone!

Missy32 I did have prior experience working as a LPN for two years before getting my RN license. I never did clinical at Temple unfortunately. I did include on my resume that I made the Deans's list twice though. No need to apologize anything I can share to help out a fellow nurse
