Tell me ""What not to Miss" in Atlanta and Savannah.......

Published

In three weeks I will be in Atlanta with my family. We are proceeding to Savannah. I was told not to miss Tybee Island....

We will be spending a nite in ATL and in Sav. Someone said we should stay the night on Tybee and not in Savannah.

What are the "Must See" places you love to go see and take your friends and family to?

There's a great art museum and botanical gardens here, if you're into that. The Atlanta Underground is pretty cool. Cenntenial Olympic Park and the Coca Cola thing are good too. Atlanta has some really great restaurants as well. :) Driving here is pretty tough though. :banghead: Hope you have fun.

I love the zoo and Fernbank(natural history museum) in Atlanta, also Six Flags is a good way to spend a day. In Savannah I would say good to Paul Dean's rest. "The Lady and Sons" she has some great southern cooking, but call ahead it can be booked up for days in advance.

We went to Savannah about a year ago for a quick weekend....We liked the riverfront area in downtown Savannah for the cute shops and the antiques. It is really interesting to just drive around in the square area and see all the beautiful houses and the trees with the moss etc. There are all sorts of "ghost tours" you can take too but I am a poor student so could not partake :chuckle As far as Atlanta, remember the CNN center is open for tours....I have never been but it is on my list. It is right across the street from Centennial Olympic Park and you could kill two birds with one stone. I also like Fernbank and the Coke Museum.....We also have some killer malls here if you have a nice new shiny credit card :rotfl: Have a nice time!

In Savannah go eat at a restaurant called Lady and Sons. It is owned by Paula Dean who has a cooking show on the Food Network. It is great southern cooking!

If you are in Atlanta, a Braves game........ In Savannah, definitely the historic district with all the shops and cobblestone streets..... when you venture out to Tybee Island, make sure you take your camera.... we were there this past summer and many dolphins like to swim fairly close to the beach, we got some great pics of them. Savannah and Tybee/Wilimngton Island are all great!
