Starting to travel in January would love to hear what are musts for you all to take along with you. Do you have storage units for the rest of your stuff, did you sell it? What do you do about your mail? Is it hard for you to not accumulate stuff as you go.....I like to shop that's why I ask. New year new hobbies I guess.

I have not yet taken my first assignment but it is a good idea to call and see what your furnished apartment is furnished with Some include pots, pans, utensils, linens etc. I guess that would be the first thing I would do. Also inquire about wireless internets connection Many places have that as well. Check the weather in the area and that can clue you in to what cl;othes to bring. You wont be needing a jacket down in FL and may even wish to bring a swimsuit or if you going somewhere north then jacket is a must. :) Hope this is what you were asking. :)

All depends on the agency, with some you can just bring your clothes and a toothbrush and you are all set. With others, you need completely everything. Get it in writing as to what they are providing.

Unless you are planning on being an "itinerant worker" (NO home, and no tax free benefits) you will need to maintain a "Tax home" which includes generally keeping ties, and some sort of residence in one particular state. Usually a storage unit does not count as a permanent residence in one state.
