Hello all, I recently was let go from my first nursing job, I dont want to get into it. But I was only there from May15 to June11. I know this should be under the resume section, but Im not getting any responses and I really need help re-writing the skills area since I was on a Tele unit. What kinds of skills would I write? I know it sounds dumb asking but Im having trouble for some reason... I have a tiny touch of experience, still nothing really, but I have to change it on my resume now...Help

I'm not sure what you're asking. What did you do while on the unit? Put that down. If you can't remember that you did transcutaneous pacing, then you don't know how to do it well enough to list it as a skill. Be honest. List rhythms you know how to interpret, high-risk drugs you know how to administer safely, diseases you gave pt teaching on. But I can't list them for you. Also, take off the restaurant experience. Although nursing feels a lot like waitressing sometimes, it's not going to make you look more qualified for a job, just emphasize the fact that you don't have anything else to put on your resume.

My quick critique based on a quick scan of your info:
(1) If you are currently progressing in your BSN, indicate when you started that and the school (assuming it is not the same school at which you earned your ADN).
(2) "Work with staff in a team orientated environment and accomplish all tasks beyond expectation per institution policy"
The word is ORIENTED, not orientated. This would be a red flag to toss your resume.
(3) Choose between "Client's needs" or "client needs" ... dont vacillate between the two. Be consistent.
(4) I agree with PP, ditch the experience at the Cafe, does not add anything to your job search as a nurse.
