Lived in Maine from 1999 to 2008. Have friends all over Maine. Northern Maine has few jobs, Southern Maine some hospitals are laying off nurses AND giving pay cuts. It's an expensive place to live to begin with. You wont see many jobs for Maine online either. May I ask why you're interested in Maine?

Kow a PA working at Augusta General, really likes it. Not sure about the job market in that area which is good. All the bad I've heard was from the far North and South. In October Maine is the most beautiful place in the world.

Serious warning; watch out for Moose on the road. They have such long legs that headlights go right under their bodies at night. If you see one in the road aim for the hind legs, maybe you'll miss it. Don't need half a ton of pot roast coming through the windshield. If you do hit one, everybody who comes to help will ask if they can have the venison. Cops, EMS, towtruck drivers, passersby. Hope you end up loving Maine like I do.
