to get ready for this requirement?

Have you formed study groups? When are you meeting? Is your facility offering paid prepratory programs? Inservices?

What resources are you using???

Specializes in med-surg, dialysis.

When I worked at Fresenius full-time, they paid for CEU's and for renewal fees for my nursing license. At Davita, they do not pay for any of that, my FA sayes that it is a requirement for nursing, not just for Davita. Davita does have alot of free CEU's that you can get online through Davita, but in NC, you can only get half of your required CEU's through your workplace, the rest have to be obtained outside of work. I don't think my FA quite gets that yet. We do have one nurse who is a CNN, but I don't know if she gets any reimbursement or pay raise for that. I'll have to ask her about that.

I am proud to say that I received a passing score today.Do any of the dialysis companies give a pay increase for certification? By the way I have ten years experience.

Here in Ga. all PCT's will have to have cert. by 4/10. After that all new hires can work for 18 mos. before they have to be certified.

Can you say "working short" and "heavy turnover" :D

Agency Techs will have plenty of work in Ga. next year...

I think all PCTS, no matter where, have until 4/10 to get it done. Davita is "reimbursing" the fees if you pass. I use the "" "" because some of my techs have had a hard time getting their money back. We had one girl fail. Since it takes so long for registration and testing, then waiting for results to come back, I believe there is a cut off date. Maybe my boss is making her own rules, not sure. But she wants everyone to have taken the test by January or else they can look for another job.

No pay increase.
