I personally didn't use the ATI book. Instead, I went to Borders and got the Kaplan's Nursing Entrance Exam Review (not sure of the exact name, but it's purple and something to that effect.) It was a pretty good review of material and gives some good tips on the reading sections. I believe it was about $25. Not sure if that is cheaper than others, but it is worth looking at. Good luck!

I got the TEAS Version 5 study manual on Amazon for around $23. It was well worth the money and made a HUGE difference in my score. Also check the website: Test Prep Review | Exam Practice for ACCUPLACER, ACT, GED, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, MAT, MCAT, NCLEX, Praxis, SAT and other Test Preparation
and here: ENG 1001: Punctuation: Commas
Also, I wrote a handy review of Version 4.0 in this thread:

I know the ATI TEAS V study guide is kind of pricey, but I found it an invaluable tool when I was preparing and I think it is the reason my score was competitive. The way the questions were worded in particular in the reviews was very helpful as they are not asked like other standardized exams I have taken. When I took the TEAS, everything looked familiar and if I hadn't used that guide I think I would have had a lot more trouble than I did.
Friends and I divided up the cost since we all had different exam dates and when we were done with it we sold it as used to other friends that needed it for the upcoming semester.
Best of luck!

I bought the Version 5 book about 2 months ago, and I studied it throughout the weeks prior to taking the test. I studied very hard just a couple of days before the test. I believe buying the book paid off for me (plus the family and friends I had praying for me as well). I took the test a couple of weeks ago and made an 85. I was actually suprised because I felt like the test was a little more difficult than the practice tests in the book. I would go ahead and buy the book. I know the book is a little pricey, but it's a cheap price to pay whenever you're trying to get accepted into a competitive program.
