TEAS at SCSU

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hey, Im new to this site and already it has been so much help :) Im a pre nursing student at SCSU, applying to the BSN program next semester and I need to take the TEAS soon. I am kind of confused about some stuff and keep getting conflicting answers from the advisors at my school. As far as I can tell, my school does not offer the test on site, you have to take it somewhere else and have the results sent. Does anyone go to SCSU and know the process? Also, for those of you who have taken the TEAS V, what were the most helpful study books/ materials that you would recommend? Thanks!

I am graduating from SCSU's nursing program this May. I personally was attracted to Southern because of the competitive program, affordable price, and the small class size (you start with about 80 students in your graduating class). The pre-nursing advisement is rushed so I can understand why you are confused. What questions do you have about it?

As for the TEAS, the test is offered off site. I took mine at ACES in Hamden. Make sure you get dropped off 15-20 minutes early because I got lost and barely made it into my test on time! I got my score immediately after I hit the button to end the test, if I remember correctly. The results are sent to SCSU automatically by the TEAS distributing company, ATI. I took the TEAS V in January 2013 and used "Study Manual for the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) Version V." The book is made by ATI and the ISBN number is 978-1-933107-98-1.

Good luck!!! Message me with any other questions.
