  1. Could you please email me the review sheets too? [email protected]
  2. You made it this far... DONT GIVE UP!
  3. I am a horrible test taker. Always have been. My HESI scores range drastically from 90 to 60 so they do not accurately reflect what I know. Which NCLEX review course would you recommend for a bad test taker? Kaplan or Hurst? 5 weeks till graduation :) (Southern CT State University BSN Program)
  4. I think you'll be fine honestly. I know it's horrible waiting around for your letter!!! Good luck and if you have more questions, write a message on this page!
  5. I am graduating from SCSU's nursing program this May. I personally was attracted to Southern because of the competitive program, affordable price, and the small class size (you start with about 80 students in your graduating class). The pre-nursing advisement is rushed so I can understand why you are confused. What questions do you have about it? As for the TEAS, the test is offered off site. I took mine at ACES in Hamden. Make sure you get dropped off 15-20 minutes early because I got lost and barely made it into my test on time! I got my score immediately after I hit the button to end the test, if I remember correctly. The results are sent to SCSU automatically by the TEAS distributing company, ATI. I took the TEAS V in January 2013 and used "Study Manual for the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) Version V." The book is made by ATI and the ISBN number is 978-1-933107-98-1. Good luck!!! Message me with any other questions.

  7. Hi! I am graduating this spring from SCSU's nursing program. Its so hard to say what is accepted and isn't accepted by the nursing department. I had a 3.7 GPA and an 80-something on the teas. I knew of others who got in with a lower GPA. It really depends on your competition. They take the top 80 students I think that apply (at least that's how it worked when I applied in January 2013). Your class size will drop too as the nursing semesters go on because of failing grades (below a 77). I applied to Quinnipiac University in addition to the program just in case I didn't get into Southern's program. I definitely recommend applying to at least one other school just in case! What is your nursing pre-req GPA if you don't mind me asking?
  8. I agree with everyone else. Med/Surg was the most information and required the most studying.
