I recently scored 78 on the TEAS 5. Do I need to re-take it to get into CSULA? If I do, please let me know where to look for affordable study materials for this exam. Thank you!

I would retake. Are you applying for fall 2012?
If so, me too! I would aim for AT LEAST 90s in ALL areas.
Unless you have all As in the 6 pre reqs :)
My overall GPA us really low but my pre req is really high so to lock in an acceptance (hopefully lol) I'm aiming for the 90s on TEAS and for healthcare exp
I'll be making a CSULA fall 2012 thread in late fall so ee can all see where we are at :)
Good luck!

So they check
Your over all GPA?
Your pre req GPA?
TEAS test?
And you get points for volunteering?
Overall GPA (cause i failed out of an engineering program a year or so ago) 3.15 and raising
pre req is 3.83
Teas i am hoping to take this friday
i havent volunteered but i am hoping to next spring
unless i get 90's in the TEAS
my points w/o volunteering should be around 22 hopefully and this semester A's should give my overall a kick to 2.24 so maybe 23 points by the end of the semester (that is with 90's in english and reading TEAS) we will see
aim for about 20+ points for the alternates list. last year i saw someone get in w/o even volunteering with about 22 points. look on csula fall 2011 thread.
this year they are allowing 2nd bac to apply which means they get an automatic extra 4 points which stinks cause there is a EL-MSN program CSULA offers for them...so they basically get double the chances of getting into one of the programs either BSN or EL-MSN
that really is disappointing...those of us w/o a bachelors degree should be given priority over those that did their time and got their degree....
well good luck i will be making a csula fall 2012 thread after i send in my application. i already applied to the university the 3rd of oct. i dont want to send an uncompleted nursing application w/o my teas in it. i rather just send the whole application completed so all i have to wrry about later are updating transcripts
good luck
