Teas Results- Frustrated -All doors slaming on me!!! Please help!!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

This was my 3rd time taking the Teas and I just improved by 2 points (got 69%). My school needs over 75%. I feel like all my doors are shut. I have a good GPA and Good Grades in all my pre-reqs. It is just this Teas exam doors seem to close all the time. I have gone to the library and studied pre nursing books. I now know what questions to expect. I need specific answers. eg. the Question of the two makes of cars always pop up first on my screen during the exam and I still have no idea of what the anwers are. Then there is the question of the dots and squares that have to be rotated.! Gosh!

Another question that thows me off is the food label. I have answered all these three times and still have no idea of the correct answer.

What about following the doctor's directions questions? taking drinking alchohol and taking medicine?

As I said, I need specific help. If there is a book that explains the above, please let me know.

If you can remember the answers and other questions, please PM me.

I'm sorry that you're frustrated. Our CC just switched to having to take an entrance exam, but I was able to get on the list before they started this, so I do not have to take it. All that said, perhaps you can ask someone at your CC. It seems to me that if you have good grades and a good GPA you should be able to get the 75% on it. But, it sounds like you don't understand the logic behind the questions. Perhaps your school could set you up with a tutor who has passed the test and could help explain t he test to you?

Good luck and don't give up! :)

You should consider the TEAS manual they sell on-line. It's a little expensive but I think it explains many of the answers quite well. Hope you find something that works for you.

As someone had suggested, perhaps you should pick up the TEAS study guide. I remember the food label question. Well, mine asked how many calories a person would consume if he ate 16 OZ of the product. The label indicates the food contains 150 Calories per serving. Each serving equates to 8OZ, so the person consumes 300 calories. Your question may be a little different, but I am sure the method of answering the question is the same. While this question doesn’t seem pertinent to nursing, you will encounter similar math problems in your Dosage Calculation course. The other question pertaining to the dots is one that tests your ability to follow directions. It is confusing and I remember needing to concentrate really hard for that one. As far as the math, it is basic algebra. The most difficult math problem is solving for X for an equation.

When you go to the library to study, pick up a GED book. Most of these types of problems you can find in one of those books AND it show how to work the problems. Good luck to you and keep us posted with you progress.

Do you know your strengths and weaknesses? I knew I would ace the grammar and verbal so I focused on the math and science.
