this website has some great info for the basics of whatever test (you will have to login, but it doesn't ask for email so don't worry about spam)
this site has a lot of useful information, from clep info to graduate school info. it even has toefl info

i know there are more out there.....
i will be taking my teas exam in october, i have to finish my science classes first. i bought my study guide book from www.atitesting.com but i still use the other sites when i can't open my book...
i wish there was study guide info you can put on your palm for teas like you can for nclex...does anyone know of such programs....
I just took the TEAS last week and I agree with most statements on here. The science part of it kicked my butt. The other parts are very managable if you prepared yourself with the study guide. However, the science portion on the other hand had lots of questions that where not even mentioned in the TEAS study guide! So you might want to get a book on "basic science" to help you out and cover some of the areas.
There also is a pre-test with lots of questions for each of the four sections for the TEAS on the web. Log on to
This will give you a good taste of what to expect!.... Good luck to you! :)
I think this post will help a lot of crammers like me.For one thing, the Kaplan nursing entrance exam study book will be returned. I probably got about less than 10% help from the book and it didn't really apply to the Teas test.
I paid for the online test $32 bucks and just used the question styles and studied it off from there. I didn't buy the book because it will not get to my door on time, so i can't say if it helped or not.
I feel the practice online test was a big help! I was able to see the way they structured the actual exam.
I can go on and on about what was on the test but I am too tired to write that on here but will go over the basics and give you some stuff I feel you should know.
1. Know your conversion units (MATH) 1 kg=2.22lbs, 1000mg=g such things like that and plug that in. I studied this from the practice test and it was on the test.
2. True, I read the science part was difficult. I pretty much threw out my 1.5 yrs of my science preqs out the window on this section. I was pretty upset because I have a great preq science gpa but what was on the teas test was not I learned or that they made it more complicated by wording it different. I felt the science part had more physics, physical science, zoology stuff....(know the tectonic plates, different kinds of rock formations, gravity, velocity, force, wavelengths, sound, chem bonds*, yeah I know huh?) The only Anatomy question was a mouth is to ** a word i don't know*** as to A, B , C or D! I felt this was my weakest area on the test even though I do really well in science courses.
3. Reading was easy. Don't really need to study on this part but just know that you understand the paragraph and follow instructions.
4. Math- I am pretty much good at math, so this section was fun. I was running out of time. Know what is a mode, median, know your algebra, adding/sub/mult/div fractions, . Easiest part was balancing check books, basic arithmetic, and reading graphs. Know ratios, percentages....just review the basics up to algebra. There was one geometry question.
5. English- I have to admit. I suck at this part. It wasn't that hard but I felt I needed to review more. You basically need to know the meaning of the word within the sentence, punctuation, grammar, sentence structures....
This is all i can think for now. I'm tired.
I would like to check out the API teas book..I wonder if they have reviews on there. The practiced test helped me but I didn't have enough time to go over my mistakes on there. So pace yourself. Study off the online practice test and review what you need to review.
you are absolutely right with how you discribed the TEAS!!! the science part was the hardest part on the test and the questions were crazy!!!
I took the HESI (kinda like the Teas) last week and it was much harder than the TEAS (Nov 09). I only studied the HESI less than 2 hrs and went to take the test. I barely passed. LOL. As for the TEAS, I studied about 3-4 hrs that night and reviewed 1 hr before the exam. I know, I am a big time crammer.
Like I mentioned before about the TEAS, come to think of it, it wasn't that bad. But the science part still kicked my butt. The science part was much harder in the HESI. The only difference about the HESI (science) is that it is more detailed like name this part of the muscle, name this part of the bronchial tubes, and what part of the heart is the so and so valve is located? I have 3.6 in sciences and scored low-mid 70's on both exams, science portion.
I am currently looking at my scores right now. After taking the online practice test (32 bucks), my overall % raised up by 10% on the actual test. I just studied off what I did bad on the online practice test. Definitely, my science % jumped up by 35%, Math +10%, English 12%, reading 6%. So this is proof that studying less than 5 hrs helped me.

Hi, eliymo, thanks for this post. This is very helpful. I remember some of this showed up on my tests. However, i failed the tests. I like the maths, it was simple, but no time, i did not finish. english, reading & science was difficult. I studied hard for the test. The book from teas is helpful for the maths, maybe for the english and reading, definatly not for science. English is my second lang. So, i struggle in this area and did not finish. I was not happy with the science questions, because it did not ask question, on A&P, i think only 2 questions. I pass all my class exams with good grades. But my teas score is too low, im embrass to say this. I have another chance to retake it on nov.12th, i hope i pass. Congratulations for passing the TEAS Exam!
