Hello - wondering if anyone can give some great advice on the best method to study for the TEAS exam. I have the study guide and have begun working through it. However, are there other resources available which won't break the budget? I would like a variance of practice questions and I have begun memorizing the right answers from going through the practice tests so much. Are there topics in Math and Science which need to be focused on more than others? Any advice which can be given, please help me! I am really nervous about this and want to do my best! Thanks!

Get some review books from your local library. Honestly, though, the review book that my school provided was the best resource. As for Math and Science, from what I remember the info was pretty basic. Study your decimals, fractions, conversion factors. I remember hoping that there would be more biology questions, but I ended up getting mostly earth science (which I'm not the best at). But I still did pretty darned good.
The best advice I can give - prepare as much as you can, but don't forget to take breaks to give your brain a rest. Get some good sleep. On the day of the test, eat a good meal with some protein so your blood sugar doesn't crash. Get there with plenty of time to spare. Oh, and don't forget to breathe...

Buy the ATI on line practice exam. You get 2 test for $30. Take the first and see how you do. Print the report, it gives you a detailed analysis of your weak points. Now study a specific weakness i.e. metric conversions and not waste time on algebraic expressions. Go over these weaknesses. Find sources on line or any book you may have. I am weak on punnent tables and brushed up on those easily in my anatomy manual. I am weak in English verb tense, I found on-line practice. Next re-take the second practice exam (should be a week or more after the first test). Hand write all questions you miss to go along with the printed report. You now should be very aware of your strengths and weaknesses regarding the TEAS test.

its been a little over a yea since ive taken the test, but from what i remember- there were many decimals(multiplying dividing) fractions, percentages. i would also know the metric system(how to convert TSP, oz to ml(30 ml=1oz) and gallons, pints and what not to liters). I would also suggest knowing how to solve for x and go online and get practice word problems to solve for x too. Science i dont really remember- i do remember thinking what is this?this type of stuff wasnt on the practice test! questions about the earth and random stuff that i was baffled about- but i got htrough it- in the 93rd percentile.
I took a reveiw course my school offered prior to the test- it was reasonably priced- and it did help alot. A great tip a math teacher gave me was to go to the last 20 ?'s and just fill them in before reading the test(obviosly mark where you start doing this). Since there are many questions and only a little tme, you will have them filled in incase you dont have time at the end. GOOD LUCK! and might i suggest- theres a book thats like 50 bucks thats secrets for passing the teas exam- offered online. DOnt buy it. it does have some good practice questions, gives you the answers with the rationales, which is why i found it helpful- but it does not really give you the secrets- it does garauntee you a grade higher-but it is basically a guide on how to take better tests- pepermint is supposedly a smell that helps you remember things better!- GOOD LCUK AGAIN!!!
oh yea on the ATI testing site, they have practice tests with only a few questions for free, but like the previous poster said, they will help you to know what to study and how the questions are formatted
