  1. Can I ask what the pay offer was? I too am having a horrible time getting any responses to my resumes (going on 70 resumes now) as a newly licensed nurse. I interviewed at an urgent care yesterday and I have a great feeling about the interview. I have a second interview Tuesday with one of the doctors. I am just excited to be able to get such a wide variety of experience at this office, but still curious on whether the $$ is in the range of doctor's office pay?
  2. Thank you so much. I too am not a member of an official organized religion. That being said, nursing school has made me begin to pray every single night! I am set to take the boards in 9 days. However, I cannot sleep and saw that there is an opening in two days. I am considering rescheduling my original date because I have just had enough of the stress. Maybe a prayer to St. Joseph of Cupertino will work? I have run out of questions to do and now I have bought a new book and I am only getting frustrated by my sub-par results on the questions CD. I am afraid that I have run out of steam! I just cannot decide, so maybe if I (try to) sleep on it and the date is still available tomorrow, I will reschedule? St. Joseph help me!
  3. Hi there! I am happy to say that I finished my first year at LFCC a month ago! I am at the Fauquier campus, which (for the RN program) has room for around 20 students. The Middletown campus let in nearly 70 students for their program this year. I really like it there! It is a small campus and so everyone is truly available for any questions you may have at a moment's notice. They also have a program for LPN students which I believe is an 18 month program. If you choose to do the LPN program, LFCC also has a transition program for those who want to then become RNs. I know that they have already chosen their students for the 2010-2011 school year, however - you should use this time to get your general education courses out of the way so that you don't need to worry about them while you are taking nursing classes. Speech, nutrition, Developmental psycholoy, Sociology and Microbiology are some of the few that LFCC requires. You may also need to take placement tests if your math or english from High School are out of date (I think anything over 10 years will require you to take them). Check out the school website: http://www.lfcc.edu and type "ADN nursing program" and it should give you some PDF's from the catalog of what you need to do. It really is a good school and compared to other schools, you truly cannot beat the tuition compared to other accredited programs! Good luck to you and maybe I will see you around campus sometime! 4. Hello - wondering if anyone can give some great advice on the best method to study for the TEAS exam. I have the study guide and have begun working through it. However, are there other resources available which won't break the budget? I would like a variance of practice questions and I have begun memorizing the right answers from going through the practice tests so much. Are there topics in Math and Science which need to be focused on more than others? Any advice which can be given, please help me! I am really nervous about this and want to do my best! Thanks!
  5. Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has attended Lord Fairfax Community College in Virginia and has taken the Test of Essential Academic Skills. What is the score required by the college in order to get into the nursing program? I am unfamiliar with this test, so I am not sure how it is scored. How does it compare to the NET Test or ACT? If anyone can share his or her experiences with the LFCC nursing program as well, that would be great. I have recently moved from Ohio to Virginia and I am trying to find a great RN program in the area to get into. Thanks!
