I just took it on Feb 8th and scored 88% (90s in math and reading, 89 science, 70.8 English) I knew the English was going to be tricky, and I've always done really well with English and was in AP during high school. I found that section tedious when I was studying for it and since it's at the end of the exam I was also probably over it by then haha!

I only bought the mometrix manual, but I also heavily used an app on my phone called "pocket prep", and I feel like it helped tremendously, I would highly recommend it. You can take quizzes on the go, study explanations for all questions, and make custom exams for whatever sections you want to study. It more than paid for the $15 cost of the app. I had very similar questions on the test that I had practiced on the app. You can also flag questions and the total question bank is almost 1400, I ended up getting through 1200 questions. For science I brushed up on physio and anatomy by watching the crash course A & P playlist (has about 47 videos on all systems), and reviewed my physio notes. I studied for 4-6 weeks and really just practiced taking the test over and over again. I feel like a lot of the TEAS is more a test on critical thinking/how to take the test which makes it tricky. I'm sure you'll score well the next time!

Hello,

im sorry that you did not do well. I've been studying for weeks. I take the exam 2/28. I've been out of school for 10+ years and never have taken AP. Can you tell me what I should be focusing on for the science section. I'm so overwhelmed with the entire section. Thank you in advance .

Hi Krissy,

Im in the same exact place as you. I took most prerequisites over 8 years ago and didn't study as detailed as i should have for the TEAS given the amount of time i had to study for it. honestly i felt as if the actual test was way harder than the practice tests on ATI. my weakest sections were science and english writing and grammar. science has a lot of detailed A&P i would refer to your old anatomy and physiology books specially the endocrine section. back to studying again as I'm placed on remediation to re take the test early next year. good luck on your exam! you got this!!

I took the ATI TEAS 6 today and scored a 94.7% (99th percentile rank).

Reading 91.5%

Math 100.0%

Science 91.5%

English and Language 95.8%

This was my second attempt (first score was an 86.7%). So I'm pretty happy with my score. I'd like to share some tips with you all since every little bit helps (and before I forget all about them).

Here are some tips on acing the TEAS:

1. Take the exam AFTER taking your pre-reqs (Chemistry, A&P 1 and 2, English 1 and 2, Algebra, Statistics, etc). Do well in these classes because these are the foundation for all of your future classes. Didn't do so well on some parts of these courses? Well you'll have to learn them eventually. I'm taking a Pathophysiology class right now, and I wish I had studied A&P better (not just to ace the exams).

2. Buy a review book. Select one with the best reviews and multiple practice exams.

3. Start by taking the practice test. Don't time yourself on this one. Instead, keep a rolling log of subjects that you weren't quite sure about whether you get the answer correct or not (i.e. digestive enzymes, types of bones, sentence structures, volume of a cylinder, finding the theme of an article, etc).

4 .Use the list you made and study these subjects. I googled visual charts, Quizlet archives, Youtube lectures, etc. The more variety of learning will help you understand these concepts better. Purely "memorizing" won't take you far because the questions are so random that you'll have to understand concepts and make the best educational guesstimates.

5. Check answers to questions missed. Make sure to thoroughly understand WHY you got certain practice questions wrong. This is VERY important. If you truly don't understand a certain problem, ask someone who knows the subject. I noticed that I was missing problems not because I didn't know the material. I was missing problems because I didn't read the questions correctly.

6. Repeat steps 3, 4 and 5 with as many practice exams you can get a hold of. The more you practice, the better your score. I think everyone has a good 15-20% margin of improving his or her score by studying the appropriate material correctly.

Eventually, you'll see your practice exam scores improving. Trust me, it's possible. la9MFCKoIaKIlaHjVuttgx238A8l+oISTPknrAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi steph. don't feel bad. there are so many other students who don't do well on their first try. we just have to study harder this time. I was depressed for a week and cried for 5 days but I'm ok now. we have to accept it, learn from it and fight harder next time. I was accepted into a program in San Jose but since I didn't pass I'm on remediation now until I retake the test next year. I have already started studying and making flash cards.

which programs have you applied to?

I'm depressed it's hard to accept, my chancellors cut score for the program is 70% and I have an 85% I have a good gpa, i got A's in all my science classes. That is why I'm so upset at myself this score is the only thing getting on my way :/

what do do you do on the remediation plan if I may ask ?

I am applying to arm programs at different colleges such as Los Angeles pierce college, Glendale community college, college of the canyons which is in Valencia ca.

I wish you the best of luck on passing this next round !

I know exactly how you feel my science GPA is 4.0 I don't really understand why they TEAS is suppose to define a good student. It's been over 7 years since my prerequisites so I need to definitely hit the books harder.

for remediation I'm supposed to wait for the study materials that the program is supposed to send me in few weeks to study and retake the exam next year if I pass next time I can start the program next fall. I'm not sure what materials they will be sending me but I started studying right after I took the exam.

I know few nurses who took the teas more than 4 times and they are great nurses so don't feel bad just study harder and get a tutor. they should have given you a report and it indicates your weak areas to work on.

When will you apply ? Some schools go by your first score and some don't so check their requirements.

wow You're a good student ! It don't understand either, you know what I think plays a big role ... the time we get during the test is not enough specially on the reading part :/

ohhh i see so if you pass the test this time you will have a guaranteed spot in the program ?

over here is different the schools I applied to all take the first score only. They mention a remediation plan but they don't specify what it will be about. That's why I'm extra stressed because the don't care about a second score :/

i already sent in my applications now I have to send them my depressing score, I hope they don't make me wait long for the remediation plan. I'm

I have no idea what remediation is about either. I tried asking the program director and she wouldn't tell me over the phone. She said "just wait for your material in mail".

if they only take first score I'm sure they will put you through remediation some schools just want you to study and re take and some make you take extra classes and re take the test it all depends on each program. but don't give up! If you really wanna be a nurse don't let this drag you down. I know it's upsetting. I was upset for so many days and felt ashamed but i accepted it and now trying to move forward. i can't wait to get the study materials to see what it is.

if you get accepted I'm sure it doesn't mean denial it just means remediation until you re take exam. and yes I agree with you the reading was not the business with those long passages. I kept looking at the timer and made me more anxious and nervous.

Thank you for your kind words.. I hope I can feel better as the days pass by because I feel so bad .

I also wonder if I'll have to do a remediation for each school or just one ? I'm so confused lol

but you're right I won't give up because I really want to be a nurse.

you will feel better! just accept it and hit the books harder this time. you will ace it next time. do you know which areas were your weakest? maybe you can take TEAS prep courses before your next exam as well. i know some schools or universities offer the prep courses.

I'm planning on taking prep courses as well. stay strong.
