TCU CRNA program for January 2016

Published

Hello everyone!!! I know, a little early. I just can't wait for application period to come around. Currently taking a Chemistry course to boost my GPA some. Looking to hear from other future applicants. Go FROGS!

I can't say I felt the same way gassy2be. Maybe it's because I haven't interviewed anywhere else. Although they didn't quiz you about clinical knowledge, they definitely asked questions about how you handle clinical situations. My nerves were through the roof so I honestly don't know how I did. Oh well, all I can do now is trust in myself and hope they liked me and could see my dedication. I just wish they would've asked a little more ABOUT ME. It just seemed like they were almost too structured bc there were no ice breaker questions or anything like that they just jumped right into it. Anyways, good luck to everyone who hasn't gone yet! I wish the best to everyone. We should know by oct 1 I think...the 15th at the latest! Ahh!

Yeah, I can see how you would feel that way if you haven't interviewed elsewhere, but it was actually more casual than the other school I interviewed at. At least TCU gave time for questions and discussion after the structured interview portion. One of the office ladies told me the interview is intended to evaluate our emotional stability and ability to handle stress, which is why they asked about how we handle clinical situations. The interview is intended to see if we are capable of handling the stress of the program.

Specializes in CVICU.

I'm not sure how they would be able to gauge our ability to handle the stress of the program after those minimal questions. They were so random. I can't wait to just know either way.

Not getting ahead of myself, but want to maximize my trip. Any ideas on apartments near campus?? Has anyone heard anything on housing from previous classes?

There are RRNAs at the interview and will be able to help you a lot with that. Also, Carol in the office sends out a housing packet once accepted that has a ton of housing info.

Where would you be coming from? What clinical sites did you guys choose?

I know you are probably looking for permanent housing, but in case anyone needs a hotel in the area, I stayed at Hawthorn Suites By Wyndham Fort Worth/Medical Center while in town and it was really nice. It had everything I needed. It is only a mile from the school. There is a health food market, Fresh Market, right next to the hotel also that makes a delicious sandwich.

Same. I don't feel good after that interview though especially finding out that there were 120 interviews.

Who told you that there are 120 interviewees? That is significantly more than last year. I wonder if they will take a larger class size as a result?
