TCU Accelerated BSN Program May 2015

Published

Hey all!

I applied to the accelerated nursing program for a start date of Fall 2015. Does anyone that applied know the acceptance rate? How did you do on your HESI test? I heard we will hear back by the end of February.

Thank you!

Ashley

I was told today by a nursing advisor that the letters went out Friday and should be here sometime this week. The storm we had delayed the mail, as the letters should have been here yesterday..good luck everyone

Hi guys!

I just found this thread and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one having anxiety over getting the "official letter" in the mail :) I did get the "congrats" message on my portal. I was curious to know what kind of tuition estimates you guys have come across or have asked about? I saw the accelerated nursing page on their financial aid website that says $99,000 but also noticed another place on their FAQ page saying closer to $50,000. For people not living on campus, anyone have an idea what I should expect? This is probably going to play a big part in whether or not I can attend.

Ps. look for my request on the FB group! :)

I'm wondering the same thing! =/

I am not too sure where the 50000 comes from, even if it were for the traditional program. Tcu tuition is high, I paid 19300 this semester for 12 credit hours. Assuming that is the case, the traditional program would cost 72000 for four semesters. I have too read the accelerated one has a hefty price tag around 90000, however, it included housing. I live in Keller which is about 40 minutes away and the rent is up there a little..but I am sure there are places closer and cheaper. The surrounding area of tcu is a little seedy and the housing immediately close to tcu is very pricey. Don't lose heart though, as I know there are special loans and funding and scholarships offered to nursing students.

That's true, I live 30 minutes away so I don't think I'll need housing. But I'm sure we can apply for different loans and grants and spend the first 2 years of our career paying it back lol! =):D

I emailed the financial aid/ loan advisors at TCU and this is the response I got (I asked for numbers for someone that is not living on campus):

We are in the process of finalizing the cost for 2015-2016 with nursing. The tuition rate for summer is $1340 per hour ($17, 420) and the rate for fall/spring is $40,630. We are still waiting on the amount of books for the next year. Please keep in mind you will have a tuition cost for the following summer as well (around $18000-$20000). We hope to have the website update by mid-March with the finalized numbers.

Hope this helps you guys. Sarah, I also live in Keller. Carpool?????? :) Im going to wait and see what kind of financial aid and scholarship money I can get before making decisions. fingers crossed.

Hi everyone!

Congrats to all who have been accepted so far! I was wondering if some of y'all could help me out on a problem I have. I have been accepted into the accelerated program, but am still lacking the religious tradition course. Do any of you know how I can get this credit taken care of quickly or have any ideas on what I should do? Thank you so much!

I am taking my PHIL 1304 Major World Religions through Dallas County College online at Northlake. Starts 3/23- 5/14.

Ummm heck yeah on the carpool. I hope you end up attending, it would be nice to have a study buddy that lived close and whom will share in the agony of fighting traffic with me every day!

I believe the religion course has to be taken at tcu.. I am unsure of this so you might check. If you can take it somewhere else TCC has maymesters..which is where the entire class is crammed into four weeks..i think!

Is the 40,630 all together for spring and fall? Or separate?

thats spring and fall. so roughly $75,000 just for tuition without books or "nursing fees" etc.
