I haven't been to school since graduating HS in '83. Now I'm interested in going into Nursing, now that my youngest will be starting school in the fall. I was wondering if there is any particular order to take the prereqs, strategically speaking. I need to take the Accuplacer next week. I dread even that because my math knowledge is poo poo. My 15 yo son will have to tutor me! LOL
How hard is it going back to school after so many years? How many classes can I realistically handle in one semester? Shaking in my boots already.
Any suggestions for a newb?
Thanks y'all.

I've run into a brick wall. TCC can't confirm that the HS I went to in Chicago was accredited. Grr... They closed a couple of years ago and until I can prove they were accredited (which I know they were), I can't get any financial aid. Instead, I will have to take the ATB test in lieu of the accredidation proof. Yet another test! I found out too that the ATB and Accuplacer tests can be combined...but I already took the Accuplacer. Does anybody have any idea realistically how long the ATB test takes? They say the Accuplacer takes about 4 hours but I was done in an hour.
Wow, amazingly I finally got my transcripts today from the Archdiocese of Chicago. It says whom they're accredited by. Now I'll have to go to the registrar's office and see if it's acceptable to them. They only recognize certain accredidations. If they don't accept it, I'll still need to take that test. Tuesday can't come soon enough for me.
Now I'm just waiting on my class book that I ordered from half.com. Ships from Ft. Worth. Media Mail is in true form. Still takes forever and a day even though it's shipping within it's own city. Sheesh!
So what is the nursing program like anyway? What color are the uniforms? Shoes? I have a pair of crocs but they are the Beach ones with the holes. Bet those are off limits, eh? I'm only in my first prereq class and I can hardly wait!
I'm in an art class right now and we had some student volunteer to pose bare nekkid last week for no reason. When I objected, my instructor said we wouldn't be doing that because "some people = me" would be embarrassed. LOL Here I am going into nursing and he thinks it's because I'd be embarrassed. It's called fidelity to my husband!!! This student taking off his clothes had absolutely nothing to do with the class. It's not a drawing class! Of course, I'm the oldest in my class so I guess everyone thinks I'm a prude or something. I think it's funny and sad at the same time.

Do you by chance have the lab book by Matthai? Any pages missing? If you do PM me and I'm definitely interested!
