I am starting this for anyone who is applying for the TCC RN program in August.
@Rossy - the makeup info that you are talking about is for Skills not Theory. It does talk about what to wear and bring but it is for skills not Theory. Wanted to clarify so you didn't do the wrong stuff. If you have Skills on Monday then you make it up on Friday for whatever time your original class is scheduled.
when reading the nursing student handbook last night, this gave me pause. i wanted to see how y'all interpreted it. it's at the bottom of page 11:
legal requirements for licensure
a student will not be scheduled for nclex‐rn nor given a temporary permit until the board has
determined that the applicant is eligible to take the exam.
information regarding the process to petition for a declaratory order to determine eligibility may be
obtained from the board of nursing at 512‐305‐6889 or texas board of nursing.
nursing students must initiate the process for a declaratory order prior to admission to the nursing
program because the process can be lengthy. applicants must be cleared by the texas board of nursing
prior to applying to the tcc nursing program. nursing students are required by the board of nursing to acknowledge in writing that they have
received information related to eligibility for licensure. full information from the nursing practice act/
rules and regulations is provided in the first nursing course. signature of receipt is required.
The declaratory order form? That's what we turned in with our application. Basically it says if we complete the program and there are no cases or murder trials or whatever pending on us they will give us the go to sit down for the NCLEX.
We wouldn't be in the program if we weren't approved.

for skills, Jen. If I wrote otherwise
it was on accident. Thanks :)
Oh see it Jen, she asked me specifically for Fundamentals and I said yes. I didn't mean that. Thanks again!

We don't have a make up day for theory. Only for skills. I have clinical on Monday but I know I didn't read anything about having a make up day for theory if its scheduled on the holiday. From what I understand, if you have skills Monday, you need to make it up on Jan. 20th.
