Tarrant County Spring 2012 Applicants

I am starting this for anyone who is applying for the TCC RN program in August.

You guys are talking about the Elsevier Package listed on the foundations textbook list (4 specialty exams, RN Practice Test, Case Studies, Patient Reviews, HESI Exit Comprehensive Exam).

I wrote down at orientation that this was a package that would run us $50-$55 per semester. I also wrote down that we'd be given a voucher of some sort and to ask Kristen (bookstore mgr.) about it. I spoke with one of Kristen's employees last week and they claim to have no idea what this package or voucher is and that Kristen didn't know either. I'm not worrying about it. We'll find out in theory class.

I'm still unable to register. I'm going to be sweating bullets tomorrow. None of this really feels like it's happening unless I'm registered!

@ jefe - I think depending on your last name you wont me able to register until tomorrow afternoon (like me) that is what S.H. told me. I'm in the P's so if your close by then I'm sure tomorrow will be our day!! LolRuth- I didn't meant to put you in a panic I was Just wondering cause I asked about it at the bookstore and they had no idea lol.

MONEY!!! I don't want to hear/read that word right now, lol. I went to buy some reference books and end up with a cycling outfit! Oh gosh :( Don't worry, everything will work out just fine :)

Made it to the bookstore just before closing and bought a few books, mainly the foundations text and the CIDs. It looks like I purchased almost half of what we'll need so that makes me feel a lot better. I'll get the rest whenever the FA hits. I'm excited to crack these bad boys open and start reading after the kiddo goes to bed tonight. :yeah:

Who is ready for CPR tomorrow?! Did anyone buy the handbook for class at orientation? I completely spaced on that one.

That's awesome, LOL. Sounds like something I would do!! :lol2: When I started looking for shoes I found two pair of non-nursing shoes that I just "have" to have so we'll see if I can convince my husband of that. hehehe :rolleyes:

@nancy- I would just relax and wait until tomorrow if you can't register by 12 or 1, give them a call. Its not like someone else can steal your seat in the class. We all have reserved spots! :)@cross- i didn't buy the CPR book but they taught it to us in PE class last spring so I remember some if not most of it. The rest of my reference books come tomorrow! Yeah!!!

@txhusker I know they cant steal my seat or anything like that but I just have that feeling of what I forgot to do something or maybe their something wrong

@cross, in two more years you will be a nurse, just tell him you'll make it up to him:) I offered mine an Audi and it works, hahaha... Which handbook are you talking about the student or CPR? I didn't know we needed to buy a handbook :(

@Rossy - Well I agreed to seriously consider moving to Alaska after I graduate so he owes me big time. LOL Plus it can be an anniversary gift! I gave up my shoe habit when I married him so he can't complain too much. hehehe ;-)

@Nancy - I had trouble registering today and turns out when txhusker and I swapped schedules it didn't make it in the system. So I was able to register for the classes I'd given to her. I called and they got it fixed in about an hour. If you still aren't able to register by lunch I'd call. They started in the middle of the alphabet. :-)
