Tarrant County College Spring 2014

Published

I haven't found a thread for Spring 2014 TCC nursing applicants, so I thought I would start one! I still have 2 more classes to complete before I can officially apply. I have an A in A&P I, and hope to have an A in A&PII this semester. I scored 92.5 on my HESI, but I might re-take it.

Who else is applying and what does everyone else have?? :)

Ok that's like mine. I have a 4.0 science and 3.84 overall

Since they only look at our science GPA everyone has been posting that and their HESI score. Then the school averages your scores to rank you. So 3.75 GPA and 92 HESI= 93.75+92= 185.75/2= 92.875. If there's a tie and they can only accept one more they use your math HESI.

They only look at your science GPA. A&P 1, 2, Chem, and Micro

Obxluvr how do you know all this? I figured that is how they did it... So the math HESI score is a tie breaker?

I've heard that's how they do it..

Wait a minute.. I just read that again... How does 3.75=93.75???

I know this may not help but this is the LONGEST it has taken (that I know of) for the acceptance letters to go out. Not sure what the wait is. When I called Nov 1st (last Friday) the lady was pretty nice. She said she should know THIS WEEK but at the latest Nov 15th. And if we didn't find out Friday, we weren't going to find out Monday. SO I am hoping that today or some day this week we will all be able to put our minds and nerves to rest. This has been giving me anxiety. They really should give us an exact date so we aren't all so anxious every single day. Whatever happens, know that it is for a reason and trust in that. I applied last Spring 2013 with an 3.5 GPA and 89 HESI and I DID NOT get in. So not sure how that person with a 3.5 GPA and 80 HESI (as mentioned earlier) got in?? They do accept people who work at JPS so maybe that is why? Anyway, its hard to predict really what they are looking for when you hear things like that. Good luck everyone!!!!:yeah:[/quote']

They only accept 10 jps students regardless of their grades. They do this to see if they need to change acceptance criteria

Then how they calculate where u retake a class?

I think if u got 4.0 they give u 100-- if u 3.75 then u at 90--- 3.5 u at the 80 mark

And if u retake it bring ur grade up To 5 point

If you made a B in AP I, then you made an A the second time, they take the A.

I'm applying with a 4.0 & 87 HESI; I'm starting to worry that those scores aren't high enough :(
