Welcome! I thought it was time to start a new thread for TCC fall 2013 applicants and future hopefuls. I've followed the past 2 threads for TCC and there are at least a handful of us finishing up pre-requisites this summer and fall.

Feel free to join the conversation and pass the word to others.

Yeah, I work for Texas Health so I got everything when I started. The last hep b is the only thing I need. I don't think you actually need the flu shot unless you're accepted, in which case you have to get it in August. But don't take my word for that... I would double check

thanks for being so helpful ktm89. congrats on your great hesi score by the way! :)

Great job ktm!!

Is it May yet!?

I know right. This month is moving so slow.

Hello there everyone! I am new to this site but i have some questions that i hope someone could help me get the answers to. I am applying for admission to the nursing program for fall 2013. But, i have several questions that I have tried to get answers from, from the nursing staff at the trinity campus. However, the times I have called each of the 3 ladies have given me different info. I wanted to know if the CPR certification, physical exam, and MCV4 vaccine have to get completed before the deadline of February 28, 2013??? I have sent an e-mail asking this same question but, have not yet received a response...

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out! :D

Im in my first semester so let me clear some things up for you! CPR is due before clinicals, which is usually after the first month into the program. (If accepted TCC offers CPR classes at the beginning of the semester) Regarding the physical exam, all accepted students will be emailed a health assessment form with a due date. Any type of immunizations are due by orientation. In short... it's a No on all 3 of your questions.

Good Luck!

Hey txranger_chris... How many guys would you say are in your program?

I would say around 20!

Awesome! I'm getting really excited but I know the wait is going to feel like eternity. How's your first semester going so far? I know they say you shouldn't work during nursing school but I'm going to have to figure out how to do both because I need to keep my benefits for school. Do you feel like it's doable?

I took my Hesi A2 today. There were only about 15 of us. I did worst on the vocabulary section but still did very well overall. I spoke with advising at TRC for a while. The applications need to be turned in at the Trinity River East Campus. They also called the nursing office to verify the information about immunizations. They said that applications will not be refused if all vaccinations have not been completed by the application deadline. They do want you to at least have the first two Hep B completed and show that you are working to get the rest of them done. It sounded like they may require all immunizations to be completed before applying in the future.
