I was wondering who the other people were who got into the program for the spring? I will be new to the Corpus area and I know i'm going to need study buddies! Are their any students in nursing school there now because I have a million question LOL

Congratulations on your acceptance into the BSN program at TAMUCC :)
I actually am applying this spring for fall acceptance. I was wondering if you have any idea what the GPA range is for people who were accepted? I think I will be okay, it'd just be nice to have some reassurance!
Thanks,
Sara
Thanks and good luck to you!! As far as the GPA i'm not really sure wish I could be more help!

Hi Sara,
I too am applying for fall, are you doing accellerated? I also am aiming for Navy NCP! You just starting the process? I hope to apply Navy as soon as I am accepted to a nursing school!

Hi I am currently attending Career Centers of Texas- Corpus Christi Campus to obtain my VN Licence...and will be going to Del Mar when I get out in September...If I take my Pre-nursing and transfer to TAMUCC after obtaining my associates...will I only be taking Nursing classes at TAMUCC for the rest of the two years (given that I get in)? AND CONGRATULATIONS TO THOSE OF YOU WHO MADE IT INTO THE PROGRAM! AND GOOD LUCK TO THOSE APPLYING!
Awesome! I think the Navy Nurse Candidate Program is such a great deal. Have you talked to any one about it yet? I only know what I have read online. I am waiting until I get an acceptance letter to go sign up.
Hopefully the incentives will still be around when I am ready to join.
I am applying to TAMU CC now, and I think I should know by March or April.
Are you looking at the same time frames?
- Sara
I haven't talked to anyone yet, I too am awaiting acceptance! I was enlisted in the Navy right out of high school so I have a pretty good idea of what I am getting into Nursing on the other hand, I have no idea what I am in for!
I hope to go to ODS Jan or Feb of 2012! I am looking into the Army NCP as my back up plan, my husband is a medic in the Army. I just applied yesterday to TAMUCC, so hopefully just a few more months of waiting!
Coolness! It sounds like we are on the same time line.
I am not doing accelerated though. I was thinking about doing the online program (2 years)
I am finishing my 1st 2 years this semester.
I am nervous because I have no idea how likely I am to get into the TAMU CC nursing program.
I don't really know how competititve it is. My GPA is about a 3.67 so I am hoping that is enough.
Thank you for already serving our country, and deciding to serve again!
I recently became a CNA (Certified Nurse Aide) and that sort of gave me an idea of
what to expect in being an RN. I am very excited because I really think I am going to enjoy it.
Joining the Navy has always been in the back of my mind, and it seems like joining as a Nurse is
a great way to do it. Not to mention the 10K and 1,000 a month while in school are a great incentive!
And all for the low low price of a 5 year committment to the Navy.
I am VERY excited! I hope that we start the BSN program at the same time, though you will finish 6 months sooner. Maybe we can be study buddies.
Thats great! Sounds like we might be on the same path! We are in Alaska right now, and I plan on moving to where I am accepted, I applied to TAMUCC and a University in Maryland. I am from San Antonio and my husband from Maryland so we will see who takes me :) Are you from CC?
I grew up in Corpus and went to Boston College. Now I am back in Texas looking to become a Nurse.
We will have to keep in touch. I will let you know when I find out if I am accepted or not.
..I also lived in San Antonio for a while. There is a lot more to do in San Antonio than in Corpus.
Not sure if you've ever been to Corpus Christi, but just as a heads up, it is very boring and small-townish.
The great part about going to CC is that there is nothing better to do than to study and do great at school.
So that is a ++++. All the old people you can stand too.
:) We'll keep in touch. Best of luck no matter where life takes you.
LOL at CC, I was actually stationed there from 00-02, lived in Flour Bluff. I know what you mean about not much to do....but drive to San Antonio! I have no idea what acceptance rate is like at CC, as I can't seem to find ANY info on it on the web. My BS GPA is 3.3, which I am hoping is enough. Time will tell! I am sure you are a shoe in with a 3.68! Best of luck! Do you do facebook? If so I will private message you my contact info either way!
It's such a small world. My boyfriend is a flight instructor (navy) at NAS-CC. :)
We go up to Austin and San Antonio frequently. In fact, we are headed to Austin this weekend. Yippee.
I do facebook, my name is Sara Ahlers. I should be the only one. :)
