TAMU college station spring 2018

Published

Hi everyone! I haven't seen a thread yet, but I wanted to see if anyone else was applying to TAMU for the spring of 2018.

I have almost a 3.3 GPA (darn you early college start, and teenage self!) but all the science pre reqs I've taken so far have been A's.

I took my hesi today (7/25/17) and walked out with:

accumulative: 91.60%

math: 96

reading comp: 90

grammar: 86

vocab: 94

A&P: 92

critical thinking: 870/1000

i wasn't aware that we needed to take personality and learning style until I left the testing center, so I didn't take those. I've emailed admissions and am really hoping those won't affect the admissions process.

Anyway, I thought this would be a great place to talk to each other throughout the next few months! Best of luck to all of you, and hopefully I'll see you in the spring!

I've only applied to here and UT Houston... It's just so hard to tell if I have a good chance or not because it all depends on the application pool.

You're right! I think part of my nerves are because I am not sure how competitive I am compared to the other applicants. I also applied to TWU's program but was rejected with a 3.98 GPA. It seems like this is every programs most competitive year

I applied to TWU much lower gpa than yours and got into dallas. I have no idea how they pick applicants I would think 3.98 would be show in. I also was accepted UTSA, holding out for tamu though so there might be a waitlist spot opening up for twu.

I was surprised too, but I think it came down to my TEAS score and the fact that I didn't complete any of my prereqs at TWU. I'm hoping that I have a better shot at A&M because I got a 92 on my HESI there and they don't look at TEAS. But either way, both schools are great and if a spot opens up then hopefully I get called off the waitlist!

I'm mostly nervous about my prereq GPA of a 3.48. I have a 4.00 nursing science and a 95.6 HESI, but I'm afraid that because I am below-average for prereq, it will ruin my chance... I wish they still looked at overall GPA, because just the prereq GPA took out like 3 of my A's from easy classes, and left the C's I got in US history and government!

So for internal applicants do y'all know how we will be notified of decisions? I know it's through nursingCAS but will we get an email that there is a notification/update? I'm just not sure where to even check for updates!

I'm pretty sure that we will get an email.

I'm not feeling to hot hearing everyone else's stats :( I have only applied to TAMU and I'm gonna apply to Texas state for the fall if I don't get in, but I'm going crazy waiting. I just wanna know.

A&M is known for diverse stats though! So don't let everyone else's stats discourage you! I thought about applying to Texas State as well, have you talked to an advisor over there? Their website isn't super clear on their program structure

Anybody hear anything yet?

oct 25 last year i'm pretty sure. I know nothing will be sent out over the weekend but that won't stop me from refreshing cas every hour.
